Car wont unlock, doors won't open. help

I have a 328i E90 and the unlock function of the car doesnt work, the lights blink and everything when i hit the unlock button but they stay locked. I can only open the driver's side door and thats with the actual key in the fob. all the other doors remain locked, and no one can get in my car.

This is the third time this has happened, i really dont feel like taking it to the stealership and have them keep my car for a week while they fix it.

i've been told its a fuse, and some problem with the latches.

Does anyone know how to fix it?
Has this happened to anyone else?

Sorry...that sucks! I have not heard of that before.

Let us know what the dealership finds out.

Fuse 57 in the JBE. Replace the 15amp fuse with a 20 amp use. If it happens again, take it in for proper diagnosis.

This started happening to me yesterday as well! I try to unlock the doors and nothing happens....for some reason my passenger side door could open so I had to crawl in from there to even drive it. This sucks! So it's a simple fuse problem?

Does anyone know how to replace that fuse? I've never even tried it before so I dont even know what and where the "JBE" is...

Also where do I get the 20amp? I've heard sometimes the fuse boxes have extras in there...or should I go to an auto part store to buy one?

Just behind the glove box. Just open it up and remove that small black panel in the back. There are spare fuses at the top of the fuse board. You'll find the dead sea scroll in there that will lead your way. There's also a tool to remove fuses in the middle. A bit tricky to get at... like doing a laparotomy on a 500 pound woman.

Honestly, if you have no idea how to replace a fuse, maybe you should take your car to the dealership and let the professionals handle this. Just sayin'...

Sounds like you may also want to perform an exorcism; I know a few good priests. Has your head been swinging around 360 degrees while driving, lately?

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I checked out the fuse and it was blown... but it seems like the dealership had already replaced the 15amp fuse with the 20 amp one. (i've had this problem twice before) They've replaced the fautly latches and i still have the problem

i didn't change the fuse because i didn't have a spare or time to buy one.
Later i turned the car on and the dash lit up like a xmas tree, 3 yellow warning lights and one red (the one with the car raised up on a jack). checked in the manual and it said general electrical systems failure

i've had this happen once before.

here's the deal guys, i've had the door latch problem 3 times and it seems like they're just never going to actually fix it and it'll just keep coming back.
i've had the DSC, DTC fail twice. And the electrical system failure twice.
(plus a whole lot more miscellaneous problems)

I'm thinking of having the car lemoned. Do you think i'm over reacting? or are you with me?

EDIT: I spoke with BMW Roadside Assistance and they're having the car taken in on a flatbed tomorrow morning

I would try, as all the BMW's I had had issues, Love them but they are great to drive, but always in the shop, even my VW was in the shop less then the BMW.

I let mine go and bought a R8 and my son a new camero, I am done with BMW's for now.

I had the same problem a bit back. I tried opening it with the actual key that comes out of the fob and only the driver door opened. I took it to the dealer the next day and replaced all the locks and the problem was fixed. Now I keep on getting weird sounds from my air vents when ever the fan is on low or high. I took it to the dealer but like right when i get there the sound goes away and i cant produce it there lol. Anyways srry for goofing off just take it to the dealer and they will fix it.

Dang. Happened to me yesterday on a 09 328i. The unlock button kept popping the trunk instead of unlocking the doors. I had to push the lock button and the trunk button and then unlock the doors. The problem went away. But it was weird.
