2006 330i or 335i?
Looking at spending $25,000 to $30,000. I'd like to go with a 335i but are they less reliable or more prone to maintenance issues due to the turbos?
These are the features I'm looking for: Automatic Sport Package Comfort Access (most 2007 335i's will have this compared to 2006 330is right?) Cold Weather Package |

Terrible regret is a tad strong, wouldn't you say?

Love my 330i. The 335 is great but I don't feel like my 330 is lacking in any way.

I've driven a 335xi loaner with a manual pretty aggresively. No doubt it's fun. But it still doesn't make me want to trade in my paid off 330.

Probably possible to find a 335 for that price range. The Comfort Access is an option and not all 2007+ cars will have them; make sure you keep on the look out if you really want the option.

haha the OP is offering us 2k7 owners 25-30k for our cars. If that's the going price, it sure is a good thing I plan on keeping my car indefinitely. I knew the cost of ownership was high, but divide $19k/11000 and that's $1.72/mi to depreciation alone. 25k!

The 335i is nice but after spending a weekend tearing up a 335i loaner car while my car was in the shop and going back to my 330i, I have NO regrets.

Depends on if you like to accelerate rapidly or not. HPFP has been an issue, but the newer generations are less problematic and they are covered under warranty. If you are worried, get an extended warranty from BMW or an outside vendor. I look at it this way. Most last at least 20k, the part price is a couple hundred bucks, so for $500 you could get one installed every 20k miles or so if they never do address and fix the issue. Big whoop.

Depends. I think the 330's deliver more of a "3-series" driving experience. It's a revvy, smooth naturally aspirate inline 6. Much more familiar and feels like a modern version of my E36 and E46's to drive. The engine in the 335's just makes the car feel totally different and I think in some ways less fun to drive. Sure it's a lot faster, but beating the snot out of it just means you're going faster (read: more illegal) on the straights. The 335 in normal driving kindof loafs along. Feels like the car is "bored".
Don't get me wrong, I would pick a 335 over a similar 330 in a heartbeat even if the 335 was $5k more, but it's definitely a matter of taste. I'm not in love with my wife's 335xi from a driver's perspective, though it is certainly enjoyable. FWIW, the engine in the 328's doesn't feel nearly as happy in the upper rpm's as the one in the 330's.

You'll never hear a 335i owner wishing he got/still has a 330i. That should answer your question.
