Engine light and loss of power

i was driving back from my friends house and a half yellow and half black engine symbol came on where the temperature and the time would be in between the two tachometers. When that came on my car became REALLY REALLY slow and felt like my car was just broken. I went home and parked it for about 5 hours and then i came home and started my car. No symbol came on and i took it around the block and my car felt fine. I had my power back it didn't have any unusual lag or anything. Anybody know what this could be? Im still taking it to my dealer tomorrow but any one have this? I was thinking my car just overheated or maybe the fuel pump was going to go but not really sure.

You're now a member of the limp mode club. Your high performance fuel pump may be going bad. Do a search for "HPFP failure" and you'll get plenty of reading material. If you're concerned, you can call your dealership to make an appointment and they'll check it out for you. If you're lazy and it your car continues to operate fine, then you can ignore this blip.
