Suggestions for protecting rear seat door arm rests

Hi all,

My beagle's nails dig into everything and sometimes after a good run at the park he is muddy. I can easily protect the back seat, but he loves to prop up on the door arm rests and its only a matter of time before he rips the leather on them.

I was considering buying the universal backseat cover, but its expensive and a bit more than I need. I really just need to protect those arm rests and window switch.

What I would really like are those door panel covers that come with the rear seat cover, without having to buy the whole thing.

I may just suck it up and get it, but I feel as though I can come up with something easier and cheaper.

Any ideas?

Transport your dog in a different vehicle. We have a Jeep to haul around our monsters.

That is a good idea. Break him into a crate for trips like that. It will save your interior and is safer for the dog. He might not like it at first but he will quickly associate the crate with something fun, like going to the park, and it will be okay. It also sets both of you up for success if you ever have to fly with him or something like that.
