I'm surprised at the number of E90s without Comfort Access
I'm in the process of looking at a used E90 330i with Comfort Access and there doesn't seem to be very many. I've actually only seen 2 in Orange County that fits my requirements (Sports Package, Comfort Access, exterior color). For only $500, you get true keyless entry into your vehicle and vehicle start.
How many of you have CA or don't? Are there any reasons why CA isn't as popular as I thought it'd be? |

You answered it yourself-$500. Some owners would rather use that for something else.
Good luck shopping around, seems like you've narrowed your search.

When i started looking for my e90 last year I really wanted CA, that was one of my "Must have" options, but then after finding alot of vehicles w/o it, but having everything else I wanted I decided it was time to bite & stop waiting for one with it, and i'm fine with it.
The only reason i wanted it was to not insert the fob into the dash, but I've gotten quite used to it & I'm glad I jumped on my vehicle when I did and got my 0.9% interest, and loving my 330i |

I have it on my Lexus, but not my BMW... Doesn't really make a difference to me.
If anything, not having the comfort access, keeps me on my toes when I'm leaving my house, not to forget my keys. Whereas with the Lexus, I will leave my house and sometimes, find myself forgetting my keys. |

I had to pick between heated seats and comfort access (couldn't find any with both) and went with heated seats. Haven't regretted it a bit!

yeah, i'm coming to the realization that i should just leave the CA out as my primary feature
heated seats aren't standard?! oh my, is it part of the Cold Weather package (which also includes fold down rear seats?) |

It was a must have for me as well at first. The car I ended up finding has it though. Now that I have it, I'd never get another BMW without it. It's worth the searching!

I just bought my 2006 330xi last month and my must haves were sport package w/6mt, cold pkg and premium. CA wa really not on my list. I found 1 car in 500 mile radius with the options I was looking for and this one had the nav, PDC, CA. After driving it around for a month, I find it very conveinient. For $500, it's definitely worth it...

I have comfort access and I love it. When I was first optioning out my car, I thought that it was a waste of money, but after my wife's Mini came equipped with it (CA comes with the convenience package), I saw how cool it was and decided that, in the grand scheme of things, $500 is chump change for the convenience.
It's come in very handy when I've been carrying my baby and, instead of having to reach in my pocket for the key, I just grab the door handle to unlock all doors, then proceed to load her in the car. |

the ca is so worth it. not having to fiddle with your keys. ill come out of the gym and have the key in the bag and i dont have to worry about trying to find the key. i honestly dont think i will own a car without this feature.

I got CA and love it. It's nice not to have to fiddle around with the keys. Just grab the handle and open the door. Only complaint is, I wish the trunk was a little more responsive. There are times when it doesn't detect my key and I have to try it a few times until it senses my key or whatever it is doing.

I have it on my motorcycle oddly enough and not on my 335. I do not miss it in the car but it is really handy on the bike not to have to mess with the keys every time I get off the bike. Once I did drive off with the key on my work bench. doh!

I thought it was a must-have until we bought ours. BMW's smart key/start button setup is a lot more intuitive and simple to use than most others I've had the misfortune of experiencing. It really doesn't add much more motion or time than putting a key in the ignition and twisting.

I have a 330i without comfort access...it was an August 05 build.
Comfort access did not exist when my car was built. It started in Sept 05 builds. So...if you are only looking at used 330i's...early builds--none came with CA.
