If this a Logic7, save your money and put it in some other mods. IMO you are changing to much to an already nice sounding Logic7 system. The only thing that needs upgrading is the bottom end.
This is what I did with mine: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...7&postcount=12 |

i agree that the sound is good but at low levels bass and even at high volume the sound is crap that why i wanted to change the speakers and the easiest i can see is to fir earthqwaukes under the seat i have also seen people who have upgraged the amp to a Blaupunkt but not sure on that.................i just want more bass and volume ha ha |

Yeah, that's the same head unit most of us have. Nice pic though.

Heh, I have no idea. Sorry, I have never gone poking around down there. Someone else may be able to help or you can try the audio board like I suggested before.

Walshcat, the American cars are specified differently to UK/ROI cars.
First question, do you have tweeters in the mirror triangles at the front of the car. If you don't, you have the standard installation which doesn't have a separate amplifier - the head unit powers it. If you do have tweeters, you should have two speakers in the rear side panels. This means you have the HiFi upgrade which does have a separate amplifier. Next, if you have speakers on the rear parcel shelf then you have the Logic 7 system which should be everything anyone needs but given your comments about the sound, that is highly unlikely. If you go on to the U.K. sub forum you will find a lot of information about upgrading standard systems - either the BMW Alpine upgrade, or the Blaupunkt THA xxx amplifiers and speaker upgrades. The posters there will be able to help you more as they are in the same situation as you. In the States, until recently, Logic 7 was standard on their cars and I don't think any American 3'er has a standard installation such as is found on UK/ROI cars. |
