E93 Owners - Visibility Issues - Do you tint?
This could be the worst poll ever. It was my first one, gimmie break!

I have "38%" tint. Yeah, it's a little dark at night. But not to the point where I think it's dangerous. I don't see how an E93 is going to be an different than an E92 for the purposes of this poll.

I think the blind spot is bigger on the back pillars and also on the front pillars vs the coupe.....

The C-pillars on the 'vert are smaller than the coupe.
I don't have a tint, but I am looking into getting tinted in the near future.

hmmm, i dont quite understand the reason for tinting a 'vert
you dont want people to see you when the tops up, but do when the tops down? purely cosmetic im assuming

Why tinting a vert? Drive with the top down and wear sunglasses. It's a vert!

if you are worried about visibility issues, get a lighter tint, like 50% (lightest), or 35% (Medium). You don't have to get them super dark.

I tinted my windows purely for cosmetic reasons. It looks much nicer when the top is up. Besides, the effect is more dramatic from "can't be seen" to "see everything".
MontegoGoGoGo, I thought that you were looking to get rid of the current ride for a new one? |

As for tint, you don't notice it if you are on the inside. I have 20% all around on the Armada. You loose more visability by putting a Gator sticker in your rear window.

Keeps the car cool when the roof is up in the sun. Tint isn't for "seeing" or "not seeing" you at all. Its about temperature and longevity of the interior materials. The can't see me stuff is illegal anyway in all 50 states.

No tint here, but would definitely tint if DC didn't have such stupid tint laws...for the % tint they allow, might as well not even bother.
If I were somewhere else like Florida, would absolutely be tinted...I think it makes cars look better.

I dunno, maybe it's me, but coming from a 323 coupe to the 328 cabrio, the blind spot is really bad. Now, not as bad at the 318 cabrio I had, that back window was TINY. But just something about the E93 makes it really hard for me to see.

Tint doesn't increase or decrease a blind spot in any way. Stickers do though so tint away and don't put any bumper stickers in the window.

I drive an E90 but I did a 35% ceramic tint and love it. Not too dark to see out of and the right level of darkness on a black car. My $0.02.

My 328xi came with a moderate tint, but I had it removed. You can't have ANY tint on the front side windows in VT - I couldn't pass inspection, so I had to have that removed. Then I didn't like how it looked with no tint on the front windows and tint on the backs so I had the backs removed. Then, the tint on the rear window bothered me at night - I don't know if it was the particular tint I had or the combo of it and the auto-dimming mirror, but I would get reflections of headlights behind me on all the lines of the rear window defroster... very distracting. I don't miss my tint.
I just wish the coupe had no B-pillar, seat belts built into the front seats, and opening rear windows. Clearly it's possible, and if the safety compromises/risks are OK for vert owners, why not for coupe owners? But that's another thread.
