Is my HPFP starting to say Sayonara?
So ever since I've gotten my Dinan Stage II done, I've noticed slightly longer cranks in the morning....
Nothing major, maybe 1.5-<2secs at most....but definitely a difference considering it always used to start up instantly.... I took it into the dealer, and they said, there's nothing wrong with the HPFP, buttttt, the service tech did say that when he did his testing a "low pressure fault" did come up, and he was directed to "reset the adaptaaaatiaaan" (he was Filipino).....and he did, and said everything was fine.... But my cranks are still a bit longer than before..... Any thoughts?

Yes it can. My car did that for a while but the problem away. Maybe I got lucky with the gas I was using. Goodluck.

It fits the situation...but we all could be biased and kinda expect/want it to happen (not to you, just the fact the stocker sucks...or doesn't pump rather). Your dinan so no worries, keep driving her and lovin it!

LOL! Ya, I'm going to tokyo in a few weeks, so inkeeping with the theme.....but yes, I agree, Auf Wiedersehen indeed.... Sheisse if the pump is failing....but I'm almost hoping it does so I can have it replaced....just not whilst I'm driving, hahah..... And I've used Shell V-Power 91 EXCLUSIVELY since I've had the car.....never anything else.... thanks for replying!

My guess would be the hpfp. I myself am getting long cranks every cold start, and they are only getting worse.. I have yet to receive an SES or engin malfunction/reduced power error, so I have not taken it to the dealer as they will do the same thing they have done to you. I was informed last hpfp, that they cannot replace the hpfp unless it has completely failed and the system records it.. So I am anxiously waiting for that failure...

I have the same problem. My car has cold starts when it is sitting for long amouts of time. I just switched gas (like the other day) from Shell & into Mobil & Sunoco so we shall see
