Not yet delivered - worried already ...

Hi guys
So delivery is anticipated next Saturday..
I have been reading about my 335i xdrive coupe with pleasure, when I hit the overheated oil issue. I think they were saying that in the newer models , particularly the ones with automatic transmission with sports package this problem no longer exist. What is your experience with this ? any tips before leaving the dealership with my new car ???
What is in your opinion/experience should the working temperature be ? should it change with hard driving condition/ hot weather ?

Thanks

Blackpepper

I wouldn't worry about it. The forum made me worry about taking my car on long trips due to HPFP. Here it is 27 mos. later and never had a problem with the pump.

Don't worry about it. Mine's pushing 2-1/2 years, and has been virtually trouble free.

Well, the combo i was looking for was not available in multiple dealerships. they all said i had to order and wait 8-10 weeks. one dealer told me there was a car in the port that has everything I wanted (coupe, alpine white, black dakota leather, walnut trim, steptronic sports & premium package and 7 logic) with some additions :navigation, iPod, smartphone integration, park assist,hd radio, cold weather, premium package and steering wheel mounted pedals). it was more expensive than i was planning to spend, but i thought I had gotten a very reasonable deal so i ordered it. I made sure it is an untouched car, and a 2009 model. never seen it yet. like stated in my previous posts, i hope it has a single digit mileage. i was also lucky to "win" two months payment made by BMW, I was oblivious to this until I placed the order...

you will enjoy the car, I just picked up my 09 coupe two weeks ago and it is great! The new idrive is really worth it, as are all the extra options that you are getting!

Thank you all for your kind support.
I got a call from the dealer, my car has arrived from the port, pick up on Saturday (I cant make it before..), it has 1 mile on it, and possibly 2 when I get it, since they have to wash it and fuel it etc. BTW he did not seem to be surprised when I asked about the HPFP issue, he just said it may die within the first 5000 miles and that there was nothing I should worry about..
So I am left with the anticipation and the excitement just to see it , smell it and listen to the roaring engine... gee 4 days waiting feels like forever

I have no oil cooler and ran a tune since week1 and temps got high as 80F+ and highest my oil temp went up was around 250 which is no where near limping.
Mostly stayed under 240. Nothing to worry bout unless you drive like you stole it for long period of time.

In other hand fuel pumps a BITCH. Its covered without any hassle by dealers but if you have a tune or aftermarket parts it sucks to take it off for service. Im on my 3rd pump going on my 4th next week. Bought car last September and i do alot of driving. Have around 26k miles already. Fuel pump is only issues i have so far. Other than xi's body roll compare to i's which is normal.
