Taking two parking spaces
I usually don't care if someone with a nice car takes two spaces. This morning I went to Weis supermarket to see a black 328xi / terra interior ( I hope they read this) coupe taking two spaces. The problem is that it was only two spaces from the reserved handicapped spaces. I know that no one here would do this but it just irritated me that this dude did this so close the entrance of the supermarket. If he doesn't want door dings then why not park it out "middle of no where" and walk a little. Absolutely no respect for others.

That makes me so mad too. IMO, it's just ASKING for someone to key your car. I was at the movie store last weekend and this guy with a really really old Lexus took up two spaces. It was almost kinda funny, because his car was such a piece.

My father in-law is handicapped do to a motorcycle accident and he just blocks their car, calls the police, and waits for the owner, police or tow truck. During the hole time keeps mudering something like "Ein was für fucking Arschloch".
I park way out with all the other nice cars and walk, its good for you anyway.

I agree. If you really are afraid of door dings, park an extra 20 ft away and walk like everyone else. It won't hurt, I promise.

What's funny is that when you park far away, someone always ends up parking next to you anyway lol

So true.....Last week I made sure I parked as far away as possible from the idiot mall parkers. I walked about 5 ft from my car and I hear this loud acceleration and a hideous screeching noise. Ohh look a huge rusty ford bronco decided to park right next to me.....Great there's only 100 other spots to choose from, but no. |

Eventually the newness of the car will wear off for me, like it did with my previous cars, but until then - here's what I do. I prefer to park between two nicer cars that look well taken care of. That way you have some "say" in who parks next to you. That is, unless they move and someone else parks there......

Hmmm... another parking thread. Statistically speaking, the best parking spot is a the spot where your passenger side is the end of a parking row. The reason for this is that you're obviously not going to get dinged from that side. In addition, there is a better chance that the car parked to your driver's side will not have a passenger (well, there's always a better chance of a car not having a passenger than not having a driver), so you're the least likely to get dinged.
Please note that this theory falls on its face when parked next to mini-vans. Good luck, be safe, and remember: shit happens. Last edited by methodtim; 03-14-2009 at 01:23 PM.. |

I think the only time I double parked was when my uncle bought the first S550 in town ($150,000) and I was driving it around. No way in hell was i going to park that in one spot, especially a cramped parking lot. The other thing that bothers the hell out of me is that you can take all the care in the world, make sure your car is mint etc... and no matter what you do people will ALWAYS scratch your car in a parking lot. I remember one fool parking his 90's crap a$$ mustang at the university parkade across two spots. Mind you the average car on campus would be at least a BMW. Luckily the idiot didn't get keyed up, but someone left a funny note on his windshield "Your POS ford is not a Bentley, use one spot!" |

I have a bunch of these fliers in my car and when someone takes up 2 spots, I leave this on their windshield....
Please feel free to save, print, and store in your vehicles for further use

the parking spaces in the parking deck at school look like this: | | | |/ / / / /
so what i do is park in first slanted one and over the line so theres huge amount of space on both sides ( | | |/ / / / ) haha totally helps. and i have my friend who comes in everyday and parks right next to me and its alright if she gets close cause i know she gets worried too and wont hit my car everywhere else, just park far away. ill never squeeze myself in between 2 other cars unless im desperate
