Opinion - Install Hamann Diffuser Myself or take it to a body shop?
Hey
I ordered the quad tips and CF diffuser and they arrived today Now for the install. These are going on a stock e92 bumper. The question is, do I cut the bumper myself and put the diffuser on, or do I have a body shop do it? Can't imagine they would charge a lot. Opinions are welcome. Obviously I will be going to a muffler shop to have the new quad tips welded. Thanks for any help you may wish to provide Mike |

I would say go to a shop to do the work and make it look right...I have seen your hack jobs enough to say that installing something like this I would sent it out for sure!! lol
I wouldn't trust myself doing it either! |

When its done right - the satisfaction you did it yourself can't be beat
When it comes out jacked up - the regret you didn't take it to a body shop gnaws at you |

I am not question whether I can do it or not LOL I am sorta asking if its wise to do it myself. Seems simple enough, but I have also learned that some things are best left to experts.
I completely agree that you get great satisfaction from doing a job yourself, but I have always been leery of body work. Thanks for the responses guys.. For those who have done it, how have you mounted the diffusers? Screws, Epoxy, or both? Mike |

Oh ok... If you feel this job is within your skill set then by all means, have at it and save some money :-)
Just don't regret it later and end up having to take it to a shop anyway if you're displeased. |
