Such a sad week..

The car is 4 months old and has about 4200 miles on it. it had never been in any accident, not even a bumper tap. i've babied it and it returned the favor by preventing my girlfriend and I from major injuries. so here's what happened.
For those of you who recognizes these streets, I was going straight towards the ocean on Cabrillo street at around 25 mph. on 26th avenue there are stop signs to the left and right of me but not for me. when i reached the intersection, a jetta to the right of me (who had a stop sign) decided to try and make a left turn right in front of me last second. all 6 airbags deployed, both passenger and driver windows shattered but was held together by my tints. the hood was crumpled, front was smashed in, many parts in the engine bay were damaged and i believe there was frame damage in two places. for those of you who wants to know the feeling of an airbag hitting you, blur your sight, cover your ears, and take a puff of cigarette for 5 seconds. it was a t-bone and here are the end results. very ironic that i took similar views of the car yesterday.

Dang. Glad everyone is ok. I'm guessing it's gonna be a total, huh?

Glad you can tell the tale. Looks like you will be getting a check and a new car.

No way that's a total....

It takes a lot to total these cars, especially a BRAND NEW one. For most insurance companies that's usually 75% of the cars value, or over 50% if there's significant frame damage, air bags, etc.... I don't think that's 28K+ worth of damage personally. You won't really know until you have it inspected.

Sorry to hear bro, I know how you feel. I just got out of a 20K new car accident myself.

Find yourself a good, reputable shop that's recommended by BMW.

She'll be ok, I know you feel sick to your stomach.

The million dollar question is:
Did you lease or buy the car?

the car was purchased and hopefully it's totaled. there's actually a picture or two up there that shows the frame in the engine bay bent about 60 degrees. the bodyshop said that it would probably sell for 15k as of right now.

That definitely looks like a total. So what happened with you and the Yaris? Did you bounce off the Jetta and into that other car?

Sorry to see that. Really hurts. But in the bright side, nobody got hurt and a new M3 is just around the corner.

thanks for the positive comments, it's hard to tell at an angle but thats a 2009 corolla , but after hitting the jetta straight on, my car swerved to the left 90 degrees and kissed the corolla.

Well, good luck bro.

I still doubt your car will be a total, speaking from experience.....but hopefully things will work out.

A good shop can make all the difference in the world, don't listen to the crap about, "it will never will be the same." If you loved the car before the wreck she can be fixed, no reason to take a drastic hit on a trade.

Hope for a total, but if not don't let it eat at you. At least no one got hurt.
