Tint or No Tint?
I bought a pre-owned 335I Coupe, it's Space Gray on Red interior. The car came tinted but I've never been big on tints. I heard it's not hard to remove tint, so I was think of getting it professionaly removed. What do you guys think? Should I keep it the way it is or remove the tint?
Thanks for the feedback, |

Definitely keep it. You're part of a very small minority if you don't like the look, so perhaps you'll come around.

If it's a quality job (no bubbles, uniform edges, not too dark), definitely keep it.

Dunno bro, I recently just had my new 09 JB 335 tinted with F1 Pinnacle and it looks horrible, especially the rear window. I'm kinda wishing I would have left it alone. I paid damn near $500 and it turns out that even if you're buying $400 tint it won't matter if the guy that's installing it sucks balls.
How does the car look? The dot matrix on the e92's are a pretty big headache and usually not done well, unless the tinter really knows what he's doing. If you're not noticing it all too much sounds like it's a decent job. I was also "originally" told that removing tint was no problem and was around $100. Turns out the rear window is a major pain in the ass to remove all the glue, and then there's the defroster lines. They can really f*** up your back window and defrosters if they don't know what their doing. Sometimes even professional installers can't guarantee your back window defrosters won't be damaged upon removal. So if it's already on there and looks decent I would leave it alone. But if it doesn't look good I'd rather have the tint stripped and removed as professionally as possible. |

Thanks for all the feedback. The tint job is done well, I can't complain about that. The tint is not the darkest you could go, maybe 1 or 2 shades down.
I've had the car for about 6 months, so I've tried to let it grow on me. Some times I like, and sometimes I don't. One of the main reasons I want to remove it is because I 've seen my exact car with out tints and love the way the red seats pop out at you. |

I personally havent tinted mine, and its kinda what sets mine apart from most lol... i find it makes the car look cleaner. This coming from a guy who has tinted EVERY CAR HE HAD EVER OWNED prior to this BMW.
I would consider getting a very light tint, simply to keep the suns heat off of me..thats the one MAJOR drawback. |

That picture = only reason needed to keep it (assuming the % is the same of course. If not, redo it to match )

Regardless of how you may feel about the look, I recommend that you leave the tint on. Edit: Oh, hey, Noc already covered these points. I heartily +1 his post. |
