cruise control
Anyone have an issue with their cruise control? such as the speed remains the same but the engine rpm goes up and down noticeably. the car is a step transmission. This occurs on level roads not up hill or down hill. it happens even when the car is in the manual mode (6th gear)so it is not caused by downshifting. it feels like the gas pedal is pressed then depressed which causes the car to osillate back and forth. the car is stock. any known fixes?

I'm assuming you need to reach 88 miles per hour. Well the car needs 1.21 gigawats of power. You will need some plutonium to achieve this. I know it's hard to find that stuff now-a-days. So what I suggest is to put a lightning rod on the clock tower and attach the cable directly to the car. If my calculations are correct you should acheive the 1.21 gigawats needed. Oh and If you decide to go back to the past. Can you find the old me and tell me to buy some apple stock in the 80's and tell me to sell it after it hits 200.

wow you guys are REALLY smart now if you know anything about bmw's and cruise control, that would help
to the one post that actually had to deal with the problem. it is an auto but if it is put into the manual mode and 6th gear the car still feels like it is searching/ leading then lagging to find the right rpm. speed remains constant. please some useful feedback would help all others can go back to the future |

tried the search didn't have any other info on this issue as far as fix or problem so as far as making fun of people i guess its pretty easy to be an internet bully and post some cool buttons up rather than just to help someone else out. keep doing what you're doing as one day im sure it will come back to you.

okay so i guess i've heard as much as i can from those who know absolutely nothing about the problem.
This is not from going up and down hills or the transmission shifting from 5th to 6th then back to 5th. it is a hesitation. the car feels like someone presses the gas then lets it go then presses the gas then lets it go. it does this in 6th gear in the manual mode driving on a flat elevation. if someone who knows something about this and can help with a fix i'd like to know about it. |

That's EXACTLY what cruise control is for maintain selected speed how would you like it to do that without revving up when you go.... say uphill??? Next thing you're gonna be wining your active cruise control is slowing you down when a car gets in front of you

this doesn't always happen it only happens on some occassions. I've had this car for over two years and i know how the cruise control is suppose to work. you guys are as clueless as me as to what is happening but you act like you know everything it really is funny.

yeah that's where i'm going next. i was just trying to get some info since I haven't heard or seen a member post about this problem. i just wish people weren't so quick to jump to conclussions because it sounds like something that is so easy to explain away.
