No Front Tag in VA and Inspections
Hello All,
I searched on this and found that many are just risking a ticket with having no front tag in VA. Does DC ticket heavily for not having a front tag if you are parked and also will there be an issues passing VA safety inspection without a front tag? Thanks. |

Yeah, I hear you. My worry is, I live in Alexandria and do spend a god amount of time in DC. I also work in Herndon and my parents live in Maryland so will be in all 3 states. I am trying to weigh the risks vs reward. I like the look of no plate, but don't want to be getting tons of tickets constantly either.

I am going to risk it. I fiqure if I get 4 tickets a year I can live with it. If the average is higher in two two three years, I may seek alternatives.

I've never had a front tag, I get an average 1 ticket per 6 months... @ $35-$50 a ticket with no points its not that bad. Front tags are just too ugly, I hope you already dont have the front holes on your bumper.

What about putting your tag on your pass. side sun visor? Fold it down when needed..

doesn't work
the only legal place to put it is the front bumper but why not get that mounting that uses magnets? so you just put it on when you are going to DC? |

I also always tint my car and VA State Troopers are a bit asanine when it comes to enforcement of tint. I may just have to suck it up and deal with the tag.... |

No tags in the front either for me. Have been running my M3 in Maryland since July 08 and no problems. Parents live in DC and I travel across all 3 (MD, VA, DC) all the time without any problems so far. Also helps that I don't have a front bracket mounted so I can always point to that and my military ID and show I purchased it in Germany and say it never came with the part ordered or attached!
