BMW X3 Limited Sport Edition
Well, as its named.. its a limited sport edition Nice marketing. But seriously, the car does come equipped every X3 should come straight out of the factory with the OEM sport body kit, nicer interior trim and wheels. I love the color too!

It is a good thing it is limited.
Car is 10 years behind the competition and outsourced by a non-BMW assembly plant. I bet if consumers knew theat an X3 was not built by BMW, they would have not bought as many. Seems like false advertising to me.

Interior is great!
Other than that... not so much.

looks really nice on the outside... the radio is kinda cool but damn this thing still looks like an e46 3 series on the inside.

that assembly is outsourced to Magna in Austria isn't a big deal. i knew it when i bought mine, and didn't have a problem. so long as BMW stands behind the product, that's good enough for me. hell, it's built by the same company that builds the Porsche Boxter and Cayman (and Chrysler 300).
does anyone know whether this model is Euro-spec only? it looks like it's equipped with the 3.0L TT Diesel (badging appears to say xdrive35d), which isn't available in the X3 in the US. i would imagine they'll bring an xdrive30i version to market here, but is there any word?

this might offend x3 buyers, but would you ever buy this car? It's the worst BMW in the range by far, has cheap plastic interior and is just too damn old to compare to GLK and Q5 Audis. Sorry BMW, just move on with this as soon as you can. BRing on next Gen X3 and let's hope it's as well made as the premium baby SUV segment demands. Shameful car and is just another attempt at sucking money out of badge snobs or those who live in old style european towns where X5 is just to big but the badge is never enough.
In its defence its probably the best suv in its segment in terms of driver enjoyment but who really chucks a small suv into each corner like it's M3 anyway.. On a side note, this must be first time I see BMW making interior that has alcantara inserts with leather bolsters. Usually its cloth inserts with alcantara OR leather sides, or full leather, or full cloth but never in this Audi/Merc combination. I like it very much. Hope it gets to be option on 3 series.

i agree with you, in the sense that the X3 has gotten long-in-the-tooth. it's due for replacement as soon as possible. given that we have only seen a couple of test mules out, it'll probably be at least a year before we get a good image of what's going to come out.
there's another thread on the site with a supposed shot, but it blends more 3-series with current x3, which may or may not be the way BMW decides to take this truck. regardless, i think the limited sport package is a nice package for what it is, a luxury sport package for the x3. unfortunately, the x3's sport package has always been ripped on for being too harsh, which will probably be the same knock on this x3's suspension.

A lot people like to hate on the X3 but the truth is that it is one of the best driving SUV's out there. The only SUV in its class that is close to it is probally the Q5. I got a 2007 3.0si for my wife and I love it. It is getting dated and I am ready for the new model but BMW just wanted to do one last push with this model. I love those seats and wheels!!!

The e90 has already had a refresh and they are still putting out this E46 SUV that was supposedly REFRESHENED in 2007. Its an alright SUV, but Cmon, who would buy this now? I was really looking forward to the '07 refresh but didnt buy because it didnt and still does not have the dual climate, rear heat vents, etc. like the 2006 E90. BMW needs to do a bit better in the marketing department with all models equally if they want to keep up with the competition. |

Probably the highest quality vehicle BMW makes and it's not from their factory. Recently won the award for the highest quality vehicle made in Europe. That special model doesn't really look any different than my 2007 which has the same 19" wheels, only difference I see is the seats because i have the M steering wheel and only difference is front mesh and silver painted rear where mine is black. i've owned 13 BMW's including a 2004 and 2007 X3 and probably near the top in quality of anyone I've owned with the exception of my 2004 E46 M3 and 2007 E93.
