BMWCCA @ Infineon
March 7th and 8th. Who's there: Steve, Harold, Satakal, Nick, Anyone, Bueller?
Sure, Laguna is great and Thunderhill is fast but there is only 1 King of the West Coast Tracks, Infineon! Step up, take your vacation time, empty the piggy bank, DO IT!! |

Doesn't it seem like the rain is following Satakal around?

I wanted to go, but allas, cannot. It was either buy a house or go racing. I bought a House in December.
But here is some video to study. http://blip.tv/file/1832492

You are turning in to early for T6...start about 3/4 the way out..stay there until mid turn..then start going for the apex..and HIT it..then track all the way out.

Really good weekend:
It feels like a phenomenal deal for a weekend like that. If I had my way I would do all BMWCCA events, PCA (if they'll have me) and NCRC. Nice combination of instructing and solo driving. I don't have any video or lap times. Harold was flying. Satakal had some interesting techniques . There's a 1st-timer, Doba_s, on the board in a new M3 who had a blast and will return. It's a strange place where you're getting faster and more precise then the instructors up their expectations and instead of speaking in terms of feet they are talking inches now. It's no longer god enough to get through a turn with a perfect line and more speed, now they want you to rotate the car at a specific place. When you start getting that down then the brake to throttle transition has to be faster and smoother. LOVE IT!!!! The man keeps knocking me down JK . |

Tell us more about Satakal's techniques... I need material to make fun of him
J/K of course... Both him and I started tracking around the same time, he has since done a dozen events and only 3 for me... Watching his videos made me realize the value of seat time as he has progressed so much compared to where I still am |

You would have enjoyed it but would have gotten little track time. The race school left little time for instructors to get time. They all came out in #3 and #4 on the second day.
