What do you use to edit your track videos?
I have hours of footage but only want to pull out a few laps here and there to put on YouTube. Whats a good free program I can use to edit these? If I remember correctly, last time I used windows movie maker and it wasnt that great.
Thanks |

I've used windows movie maker for track vids. Never crashed on me though. It also separates your footage in scenes during the capture which is convenient. if you're just cutting together video for youtube, I don't see why you'd need anything more than WMM.
excuse the soundtrack. my camera caught a lot of wind noise, and I didn't realize it had a "wind cut" setting until recently. |

I am trying to figure that out..what you see is actual full videos on me...where the camera breaks up the file when converted all by itself.

You just use sliders on the preview pane to mark a section of video with a "start" and a "stop" point for the clip you want to use. Then you just drag it to the timeline, and it only inserts the section between the markers. At least according what I can remember right now.

MWP won't read this 3 gig track file for some reason. It read smaller files off this camera no problem. |

haha yep, I'm not going to win any drag races in that car (as evident by the black corvette leaving me in the dust on the front straight). It goes pretty good otherwise though. My best time in that config at BW is a 2:07
Oh yeah, to split your video files into smaller chunks, try this: http://www.doeasier.org/splitter/ |

oh yeah, I have no problems with that. the car IS just a civic, I know that. But it actually does pretty well for what it is, and surprises a lot of people.

I was just joking around with him. Actually one of the head instructors has a CRX that will rock most cars out there. Granted it gets lost in the straights but it handles the curves better than I could ever do.
