CF front splitter?

Have any of the aftermarket companies said anything about a front splitter for the Z4M?

I was thinking something that basically sits below the fangs and connects them would look pretty good.
Here's a quick Pchop I did (hope lilherc79 doesn't mind me using his car).

haha yeah, definitely have to watch for any elevation change.
But the E46 M3 is just as low, and they have a CF splitters for that. Plus it'd only be a bit lower then the fangs are already - the only difference is it'd go all the way across the front end at that height.

Hear that vendors - you have two sales already!

+1 for vendor interest!!!!!

Thats real nice, its similar to the cf splitter from varis.
Id be done for one if we can find a vendor to make it for us. Ive asked a couple guys before but they didnt want to help. Maybe now with this thread up some one will step up.

I'm in for a front splitter. I went from no overhang on my Cooper S to four acres of hood on my M Coupe. The front splitters lasted until I valet parked in Chicago hotel and attendent drove into a parking curb. I didn't realize until I washed the car the next day. Parking garage claims they are not at fault as I didn't report it before I left the garage. MF!

I'm in for one. I really like the front end of the customer race car. Wish Kamei still made air dams. They used to make one for about every car...

you guys may wanna look into APR, i know the company isnt super name brand, but they can make you a custom one for the Z.

Interesting. And at $340 for a single one-off part, that's damn reasonable. I bet with about 5 parts made we could get them to do it for $300 shipped. I'm not sure I like the idea of them just working off of a cardboard cutout. I wonder if they have CAD and, if they do, if someone could design something up in it...

APR have made some good stuff over the years.
Im guessing the type of splitter they are creating is just the flat one that sticks out. With the card board tracing they could easily have the side dimensions and how far the splitter has to stick out. It doesnt sound like the best method but with the splitter being so simple it would work just fine.

That Varis one isn't bad and APR is definitely an option.

Laidback is going to ask around as see if any vendors he knows might be up for this. He is busy prepping for Mfest3 though, so let's give him some time to work.

Its not my car i just thought id use it as my sig for a few days :P
All those parts are from Varis and made to order i think, there is a company in the US that deals with them and can offer cheaper prices to zpost member since one of the guys is mates with some on here. Just need to find the old varis thread to get the details.

if there's enough interest I can go down there and have them mock up a template and hopefully get a group buy going if there is enough interest. They are only 10 min away from my work/house. LMK

Read this thread again. If this isn't enough interest I don't know what is.

OK OK...I just talked to Peter who seems to be large and in charge over at APR. I just faxed my business license number and tax ID number and am currently awaiting a price quote, probably by today.

oh yeah can somebody get a quick trace of dimensions on the splitter(w x l)? That would get me a more accurate quote, and I don't have access to my M. btw my cousin has the APR splitter on his 350z and it looked great! guaranteed to look better b/c we have fangs...according to the photoshop!!
