I can feel the winshield wipers in the brakes....
I've had two other BMWs and have never had this happen.
Today was my first drive in the rain (ick) and I could like feel the wipers in the brakes. I know that sounds weird, but when my foot was on the brake, say at a stop light, when the wipers would go, I would feel almost a jerk on the brake pedal. Not a jerk, but....it's hard to explain. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Also, it seems that unless I have the auto wipers on the blades go WAY fast....

I have the same problem when my foot is on the brake. I can feel a bump in the pedal whenever the wipers are going. Anyone else know if this is normal?

This is the BMW brake drying feature.
From bmwusa.com: We believe being able to stop quickly is even more important than being able to drive fast. That's why our enhanced braking system does more than just brake. If it's raining, it'll dry off the rotors. If you're stopped on a hill, it'll keep you from rolling. If you quickly pull your foot off the accelerator, it prepares to brake just as quickly. And, if you're braking repeatedly, it knows you need more force. You can adjust the auto wiping speed as well. Just turn the knurled knob downward for slower sensitivity. |

It's not the brake drying. It's the fact that BMW attached the brake pedal to the firewall along with the wiper mounts, it could be a proximity issue or something, I don't know why this doesn't happen in other makes and models but it's come up many times before.

Sounds abnormal, you sure you're not imagining things?
Whenever I stop at a light, my wipers automatically slow down, to accomodate for the fact that the car is no longer driving into the rain.

If the wipers are still going, I would think that the brakes would still dry. I dunno, I'm just guessing here and I reserve the right to be completely ass wrong.

I agree with GregL's explanation. It is a mechanical vibration transmitted to the pedal.... GoGo, If you only feel it when wearing your Prada's, you might try these: http://cgi.ebay.com/PLEASER-Womens-H...QQcmdZViewItem |

Yeah, I feel it as well. I thought it was a proximity issue between the pedals and the wiper motor.

Seriously though, I'm glad to know I'm not the only anal BMW owner that has noticed this. Herrmes - I know a drag queen with those shoes!!! Seriously.
