Cheap 2008 335i on Craigslist?!
Hey guys, my friend is looking to get a 335i Sedan and he come across this craigslist ad with a number of that area, (Encino, CA) area code: 818. However, the price is cheap!! and he did not state that this was a repaired vehicle. So I am asking for your experiences, is this car legit? Thanks!

No way to tell from that ad. I would call and ask directly if it has anything other than a clean title. If it sounds sketchy, check out the VIN on your own through Autocheck or Carfax. It sounds too good to be true, but you never know.

Maybe he meant 81K miles (somehow) instead of 8.1K

Not enough info on the ad, I say it looks fishy.

that area is the hot bed for auto auctions.....where damaged cars are bought for dirt cheap, repaired & sold for new..... i don't think it's legit, there must be something wrong with it.

See it, run the background check on the vin, check to make sure the vin matches on several parts, drive it. If it passes all the tests, buy. Probably a rotten 3 day old carp though.

Sounds very suspicious. What's with the "full power" reference? Maybe you can call, ask for the VIN number, and run the VIN through Car Fax. (www.carfax.com) If you ask to see the car, make sure the VIN lines up with what the guy told you on the phone.
Make sure the title is authentic. |

Yeah, theres a few cars that keep showing up in the LA area with prices that are way too good to be true, they all seem to be photographed in front of that same fence with that same ph#
If it was 1 time it might be some poor schlub who lost his job needing to sell quick but multiple different cars screams salvage or scam. |

No way that can be legit. Either something major is wrong with the car or it's a scam. If it's local, wouldn't hurt to look at it, but I would be sure to get a carfax done and take it to a reputable mechanic to have it closely examined.

There are cases of fake ads on craigslist. People show up to look at the item and get robbed. I would avoid.

I'd check it out. I have seen 2 335's locally here last month for the mid - high 20's. With the used car market tanking, we will see lots of deals like this in the future.
