Verizon Treo 650
After reading the different threads concerning bluetooth compatibility with different phones, I know that Sprint and Cingular Treo work to some extent. But I'm wondering if Verizon's Treo 650 pairs or not. I'm looking to buy one soon. Thanks.

I been wondering the same thing since I'm getting the treo soon. Here's two threads about it.. not sure if the answer is conclusive. Maybe you've seen these threads already tho. Hopefully scottz5 will tell us for sure!

I know I have read them and they are hard to follow. Even if it does not work all that well the treo 650 is the best phone IMO. But I pray it works well.
The only thing I got out of those posts is the Palm contacts dont work and only a number of favorites work. I guess I will see soon. Maybe someone can help us out here.

The threads do mention updates released by Palm for Cingular, Sprint, etc. that do add full compatibility to BMW bluetooth. I'm hoping a Verizon update follows as well.

TREO 650 from verizon works great and paired perfect! My dealer is going to let people know this as they pick up their cars. He said many people have been asking about the treo. The stereo shows your name instead of the phones name, which I think looks cool. If you need any more info or pics let me know.

You can not put your Palm contacts in the phone that is true, but all of your favorites or aka speed dials will work. To be honest I would not even want all my Palm contacts to load in the car. Way to many numbers to search from. The key is just set up your favorites on the phone, which I never really used untill last night. It can hold 70 of the numbers you most often call.

That's interesting that it works for some. Palm's website says 'NO' for BMW compatibility for the Verizon TREO 650. See link below.
http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/W...m_External2001 They have a new update for the phone, up still no BMW compatibility with this update. http://www.palm.com/us/support/downl...r/verizon.html However, Palm does have an upgrade for the Sprint TREO 650 that gives BMW compatibility. See link below. http://www.palm.com/us/support/downl...er/sprint.html |

Scottz5 - Are any other features missing? Are you getting in-coming calls also, and able to use voice activated dialing? Please post some photos if you don't mind.
I'm also with Verizon (and I'm sure lots of others are also), and have been holding off on the 650, but your luck gives me hope.... |

Save them as you fav buttons and it works. Not sure how many you have. I think its like 60 or something. You can also voice dial.

VZW 650 works great - I don't even take it out of my pocket when I get in the car and in seconds I have a link everytime. I have the diamond button on the steering wheel set as the Telephone Book.
To set up: Make sure bluetooth is turned on your car - on idrive it's in the <communication settings> under the big i. Not on the Communication part of idrive itself. Once bluetooth is on, turn bluetooth on on your 650 and have it search for the BMW. Once it finds it you see "add device" on the idrive screen. The 650 will ask you enter a pass key to authenticate the connection (you choose the passkey). You will have to enter the same pass key on the idrive screen. Your 650 will pop up on the idrive screen. To ensure your 650 does not crash - make sure you have no extra dialing numbers in your favorites e.g. your password on voicemail. It should work - if not let me know.

I am hoping to buy a Verizon treo 700p. Any news on whether the Verizon treo 700p works as well as the Verizon 650 does with the 2006 3 series bluetooth?

For those of you with a Treo 650, when you are on a call using your phone but are not in your car yet (say you are going to your car talking on the phone) and you start your car, do you get transferred to the car audio? On my phone, the call gets dropped when my car bluetooth connects.
Any fixes for this? I'm on the Telus network in Canada but the phones should work the same, right?

I have the new Motorola Razr2 V9m with TELUS and it doesn't seem to work with my 335i. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get it to work? The BMW can't recognise the phone and the phone can't recognise the BMW as an audio device.
