Hesitation/sputter in high gear@low rpm on highway
I brought my car into the dealer due to it hesitating and running like crap(idle- sputtering and barely running at random times) and they replaced the fuel pump. I'm wondering if they updated the software to the lag issue software as my car seems alot slower...?
Also my second question is i am having the same problem as before my new fuel pump- my car sputters at 2-3k rpms when i accel. in 4th-6th gear. It feels like either a fuel problem or someking of timing issue? Possibly even spark plugs but the car is throwing no codes. Any one run into a similar issue? The fuel pump did not solve the sputtering at all. And did my software get updated if my fuel pump was replaced? |

Try using different gas. My previous car usually sputtered when I was using bp gas but when I went to shell it stopped. maybe a factor.

I have this problem also. When I'm cruising on the highway say in 6th gear around 80mph and then floor it, it almost feels like the car shutters ever so slightly. At first I dismissed it as some sort of boost lag but the more it occurs the more I wonder about it. I did notice a difference switching gas but it's still there somewhat. In a way it almost feels like DSC is affecting the rear axle but obviously I'm not breaking any traction in 6th gear when I step on it... and it does it when DSC is off anyway. Hard to describe the problem.

exactly what was happening to me. Only in high gears at low RPM's. Really annoying and the dealer kept claiming it was in my head until they finally figured out it was my electronic fuel pump then later they reprogrammed my computer with a different software. It wasnt the 29.2 but 46.5 or something in the 40's I cant remember the version. Anyone else have this updated software that's not the 29.2? I see your in athens where do you service your car? Take it to Global BMW they finally got mine right and might be able to fix yours the first time since they now used mine as the guinea pig. |

Typo. Probably 32.3, if that's even out yet.

Thanks, I'll have them take a look at it before it gets worse.
