what kinda mods should a non-modder mod do?
This is kinda long, so please, humor me......
I'm starting to think that after looking at everyone's AWESOME CARS that I'm just not that into modding my car. I think all the cars here are BEAUTIFUL, but I can't see myself getting into lips and hoods and exhausts etc. Soooooo I just wanted to get your opinions on what a non-modding-modder should do to keep it elegant yet just a head above the other normal E93 cars out there. This is what I was thinking about doing: 1. 35% all around tint 2. OEM alarm installed 3. Changing my black 328 mesh to the chrome 335 mesh 3. ipod integration - unless I can figure out how to burn 200 songs to an Mp3 CD Then down the road I'd like to 1. Get some new wheels "19 (maybe m6) 2. Paint the calipers red And that's it! What do you guys think? Stupid? Waste of time/money? I would have the calipers painted red now, but I'm not sure my rims would work well with that. I have the sports package rims with all the doohickies on them. I guess i want to make the car look as good as it can (for my personal preference) without going over the top with the mods. This is my every day car and I will have clients who will see it and ride in it. Thanks AGAIN for helpin' the new gal out!

yeah, you don't have to go crazy buying mods.
if you were never really into it, but want to just spice it up a little, i would do what you stated above. another suggestion would be painted reflectors, and some matte black girlls. but thats just me. good luck |

I started exactly like you. I wanted to make subtle changes to make my car look more sporty, but still keep its factory look. I did not want people to think I turned it into an honda, etc.
Well....little by little...I did more and more. So, start with things you are comfortable with. And do things because YOU like them---not like many on here that post a poll thread to help them decide every little detail, just to get the forum's approval of what they are doing. Before: After: Now....

I most definitely think the tint and wheels will make the biggest visual difference for someone like me. But I just get so excited every time I see the red calipers on the boxters and caymans. Do you buy new wheels and brakes to achieve that look?
I want my wheel to stay OEM, right? I don't want any crazy chrome spinners.....not that there's anything wrong with that...

It won't look good to paint the stock caliper to red color. The stock caliper's finish is not smooth so the red paint won't look good on it. If you want red caliper, you should go with the Rambo brake upgrade.

19 inche OEM 179's would look awesome on a montego e93. They look awesome on my black e92 too! Definately draws admirers. You don't see them that much.

something you can do to make it look a bit different is replace the interior wood trim with the piano black finish, it looks good.

OK so how's this revised list?
1. 35% all around tint 2. OEM alarm installed 3. Changing my black 328 mesh to the chrome 335 mesh 3. ipod integration - unless I can figure out how to burn 200 songs to an Mp3 CD Then down the road I'd like to 1. Get some "19 OEM wheels 2. New Brambo brakes
