Anyone have a 335i with a MT?
I'm interested to know if anyone has a 335i with a stick instead of a steptronic. My 330i has the steptronic and I'm toying with getting the 335i.

nope, this is a steptronic 335 only forum. I think you might have better luck @ e90post6MT.com

Lots of people with MT (me included). Yes, it costs more to get a Steptronic. Yes, the Steptronic's faster, but I opted for the manual because I've always loved manuals and being connected to the car.

I have a 6MT 335i. I've driven the Steptronic also. It's a great auto transmission, but I still like the manual MUCH better.

Reasons I got mine with MT.
1. You can make engine dance for you. 2. Because it's more fun. 3. Because it's a lot more fun. 4. I can blip to make vroom vroom sound. |

This is my first stick actually. They only had one on the lot so I had them go get one. I am glad I did. It is hard to track a car with an auto I think. Just doesn't feel right.

This is nice to read that there are other 335i owners here who love their 6MT! I agree with all the positive posts about reasons why you like the manual on this car. I love the positive control and the pure enjoyment with this manual. I've even thought about how much I love it and wouldn't trade it for an auto/Steptronic even while sitting in SoCal stop and go traffic.

Not to bash auto drivers, but driving an auto puts me to sleep. Manual transmission is very engaging and makes the 335 a blast to drive.
It also depends on your situtation, are you in a lot of stop and go traffic? Do you have to share a car with your wife/husband? |
