I have it in mid setting for rebound, and it is perfect for dialy driving (I like it just a tad stiff but not track-ready). It is slightly (just slightly) softer than the H&R sports springs I had, but the overall ride is much more composed. Cornering is just fantastic, as always with these KW coils.

the drop is beautiful...I'm gonna let it settle for a week or so, then re-adjust the height just a tad to get it perfect.

the beauty is I can adjust them both (rear and fronts) easily now. The fronts I don't even need to take the tires off, and the rears is just taking the tires off and twisting.

should have done this from the get go.

One nice set-up. How much did you pay for the install?

$180

badass mechanic from one of the shops in miami did it at his house....dude is just badass! He did the coils (I helped a little) in 1.5 hours while talking and taking it easy.

took me 5 hours to do just the springs myself!

Looks great, congratulations! Did you corner-balance and align afterwards?

Do you plan to do the front upper/lower M3 controls arms too?

I am currently hesitating between a 135i with all the suspension goodies and an M3 sedan with EDC... I'm torn, I don't know if I could modify the 135i to be such a complete package the way the M3 is...

not yet...letting it settle for a couple of weeks before I do that.

depends. Homestead track opens in february, so after a try there I will see if it needs it or not. For dialy driving, and since I only track it once a month/2months, probably not.

well, it's apples and oranges to be honest. An M3 is an M3, no matter how you slice it! it's a beautiful car, performs admirably, period!

having said that, if bang for buck performance is what you want, you can turn the 135i into a real monster very quickly!!! a $500 JB3, a $2000 suspension upgrade (coils, sways, arms), and a real Diff ($4000), can turn your car into just a monster track car that will devour an M3.

But at the end of the day, something about the M3 that is just sooooo special! :iono:

I think on top of that you will need wheels/tires for sure ($2-3k) and for a final flourish an exhaust ($1.5k). So is a $48k 135i ($37k ED + $11k mods) better than a $54k stock M3?

Exactly. I got out of the 135i and I liked it a lot. I got out of the M3 (after severely flogging it's arse off on rain soaked country roads) and I could not catch my breath. The noise, suspension and M diff blew my mind away. I swear if they had a BMWFS desk at Watkins Glen, both my buddy and I would have returned home in those demo M3's.

But then again, the 1 would still be cheaper (to run & maintain too) and the M3 does not feel that special in the daily grind - just when you're whipping it 100%.

I have until April to decide - I'd better find a local 135i with serious suspension mods and beg for a drive...

Heh, me and a buddy had this talk yesterday about suspension and why everyone always said, "i'm gonna let it settle a week to a month and then re-adjust"...when we finished our installation, it sat a bit higher, then after a 5 min drive, it settled and the car looks fantastic. Point being, I am not sure what there is to "settle" that takes that long to happen besides a quick 5 min shake down drive?

Did you ever get that end-link bolt issue addressed?
