Installing M door sills

What is the best way to install the M door sills. I have read all you do is remove the old and replace the new, but how do you accomplish this without breaking anything. Thanks for any help and/or advice.

By the looks of the drawing on Realoem, those little clips should just pop out. You may want to have some new ones on hand in case they decapitate themselves. I would just pry gently with a flat trim remover, and see what happens. I recall someone on this forum said they did not take long to replace.

Thanks...a good "tool" helps to remove the clips. Once they are off the install is very simple.

This is what is used...

+1 - Speaking from experience, since the door sills are plastic, it is very easy to ruin them if you don't have the right tool

I was determined to get the M door sills on the car immediately, so I used a flat tool to try and pry out the clips - I got the door sills off, but the grooves that the clips fit into ripped, and the clips stayed in the body. I had to pry them out, and some of the clips broke. I didn't care so much about the stock door sills as I don't think they are going back on, but I may need to remove the M sills sometime in the future.

So the moral of the story is use the right tool. I'm checking around for it now.
