I just had the Dinan camber plates installed today and had the tech dial out alittle camber in the back, went from 1 50 to 1 35. The two together seems to have freed the car up. I am tracking it this weekend so I will let you know.

Kerry, it's Philip. Are the Dinan camber plates adjustable? What was your final camber reading? What did you set the toe at? Let me know how your event at MSR goes. I'm buried this weekend with Honey-dos otherwise I'd drive out. Have fun. BTW, what track config are you running?

I do not have the info infront of me, but, I believe it is at "55". I think the factory setting is around "25". I will pull the paper work and get the exact degree. Took it out last night and pushed it alittle and maybe it is better, we will see. Let me know next event you are doing and I will be sure to sign up.
On the 19th there is a 1 day event in Austin, the cost is 220 with all the driving you want. No sessions, just driving, probably 20 cars. |

1.whatever clockwise. I believe the Dinan camber plates are adjustable but I will have to check. The tech at the BMW store led me to believe they were, but, I could have misunderstood, will check on that as well.

I understand that the BMW factory specs for rear camber are -1.83 with 0.25 tolerance in both directions. Why did you go with -1.35? Is less negative camber than the the factory spec supposed to improve the handling of the car?

Has someone said that less negative camber reduces understeer on these cars, or is that just a logical guess based on general principles? Theoretically, it does make sense to go with less negative camber in the rear if you're already maxed out on negative camber in the front and still having understeer problems. If you can't increase grip in the front, then reduce it in the rear.
