325i or 330i doesnt matter. of course you turn off the traction controls but then what? rpms? clutch?
while we are at it. if you aren't in a rush at all, what rpms are you pulling off at? you think 1500 is to much? first stick, sorry? also, what about down shifting to a stop, whats best? hold the clutch in once rpm's drop below 1200 and roll to a stop in that (holding clutch in) gear or nuetral? or do you have to down shift a couple of times? what about down a hill, any no, no's to know about? thanks in advance. i feel kind of stupid asking this shit... |

Search for the first topic, you will find many, many threads about it.
As for downshifting to a stop. I let off the gas as soon as I'm close enough to the light, then I just downshift progressively until I'm in 2nd. I just clutch in before the engine bogs, and stop in gear, then when I'm completely stopped, I put it into neutral and clutch out. Down a hill...just don't brake when you're going fast downhill (this applies regardless of transmission). You can use engine compression to limit your downhill speed (just put it into a lower gear). |

Rev it to near max torque range RPM, drop the clutch.
oh wait, that'll be a good way to do burn out.
