Not much brewing in the modifications
So, I guess as 128i owners we dont have much of anything done to our cars....huh? Lmao, the last thread was commented on yesterday for Gods sakes. Lets pick up the ball. Group buy for electic superchargers should get the ball rolling....whos in?!?!?

The thing is that this forum is pretty much one sided. The demographics is mostly 20-30 who would rather purchase a 135. So the people who got 128 get no love. BOO.

It really is a shame the 128 gets less love. The wife got a 135 and even after coming from that I got to take a little ride in 1er's 128 and I do have to say, the thing still hauls major ass. I must say, I am impressed. Problem is most aftermarket companies see a twin turbo as a more viable tuning (and money making) option for them to make parts. I guess from a capitalist company standpoint, if you wanted to go that much faster the 128 crowd would have just gotten the 135i so they don't see as much of a market.
If you want the parts you have to start hounding the companies that make the parts. Not just one or two of you guys either, get a bunch of people and bug the hell out of them. I had a Tiburon before the GT V6 came out and if we wanted parts they had to be special ordered or we had to get together on the forums and organize a group hounding of specific parts companies... |

I felt the same when I got a 325 the 335 guys booed me and i fell into depression and then a few months later the 328 came out and then i fell into suicidal mode. Same with the 128.

Not much, but the 135 is 15K more expensive.

I think it's pretty clear the 128i is no monster, and having seen a horrible Celica with plastic bits stuck all over it today, I was subtly reminded that I am buying my 128i because of the looks, not the BHP.
Still, a little bit of ECU mapping to get the most out of the engine I have does sound appealing. Maybe the chip guys will see one day, that there is a big bunch of 128i owners who would happily use a little more power for a reasonable price !!

There are the same amount of 128i accessories as 135i accessories offered from BMW.

Plenty of guys in the UK and Australia have modified their 130i (the hatch variant with the same engine, although it's rated at 195kw). No doubt you'll see some activity on the 125i (our equivalent of your 128i) coupe over the coming months.

I had about everything I could do N/A wise aside from quad throttle bodies just to get to 200hp in my old Tiburon and that was enough for a DD for me for a while... |

x2, I had the 4 cyl. z3 supercharged....and it was still .7 sec. slower than this car! WTF, it is fast enough, but I know in the next year when I want more, there will more than likely be a chip or someone who figured out the 3stage manifold technique with a chip w00t  and thanks for the kind words about my car.

BTW, I researched the whole "the earth will reverse rotation like it did around 12k years ago" that the guy outside of my store was talking about....it didnt reverse rotation....it reversed POLARITY, which has happened multiple times. Just a little fyi. (He knows what I'm talking about!!!!!!!!!!)

Coming from a 0-60 in 8.6 seconds civic that I did a rear disc brake conversion, engine head port polish spring/retainers, shocks & springs I'm going to leave my car alone for quite a while. I do plan on autocrossing it but short of cheap racing wheels and better rubber I'm going to focus on improving the driver before I bother improving the car. It should be fast enough for a long while...
