My baby's on it's way
I've just checked my VIN and my car has just checked into Bremerhaven and is waiting for the TARIFA.
I went onto Google Maps to see where Bremerhaven is, and I saw a very sleek submarine parked at the dock. Wonder how much it cost to have Sir Paul McCartney's Lexus AIR FREIGHTED to him? He wasn't too happy about the "carbon-footprint." |

Nice one! Yours, mine and jksgoh's will be on the same ship. The wait continues...
Over the next few days you'll be able to track the ship's progress here: http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shiplocations.phtml

Thanks Cozza
So far I've determined the TARIFA is due to sail from Bremerhaven today and makes it's way Down Under via the US, Panama, Brisbane, Port Kembla, Melbourne (05/07/08) and finally Fremantle - due 10/07/08. Allowing 2 weeks to get from Freo to the dealer I should get it in the last week of July. |

Congratulations guys! The ship tracking site is great, but I found that not all ships log their position. My ship started logging after it left Southampton, but stopped in the Indian Ocean after leaving the Red Sea.
I guess it's up to the captain if he wants to be tracked:iono: Enjoy the wait... it's agonising. About 2 weeks to delivery for me.

WooHoo - M/V Tarifa has just left Bremerhaven. Let's hope for calm seas and a good tail wind.
A mate of mine may get to "drive"my car before me. He's a ships pilot and may well bring the Tarifa into Fremantle on 10 July. |

How funny, as you posted this, I'm looking at photos of the Tarifa, and browsing various websites to see what tracking info I can find. Clearly, I have no life!
These ships are amazing themselves... The Tarifa has room for 6,400 cars, weighs 57,000 tonnes and travels at 20 knots! http://www.scheepvaartwest.be/pagina711.html

Thanks mate....can't wait till end of July!
Interesting photo of the Tarifa. That orange lifeboat, my pilot mate was telling me, is one hell of a ride. He's had to train for emergency exits and it's the worst thing of all he says! |
