135i - Front page photo in The West's Motoring

Hi guys,

Was having lunch with a friend today and was talking about my new order. He said to me that he was sure there was something about BMW winning the Engine of the Year aware (again) in The West Australian newspaper yesterday.

When I got home, I checked (although I am on holidays, I hadn't had a chance to read it yet). And, sure enough, the midweek Motoring section has a half page photo of a red BMW 135i, with the headline "Fast yest frugal - BMW tops the world's best engines voting".

The article, over pages 2 and 3 says (excerpt) "Readers wanting to be propelled by the globe's peak engine would need to fork out $71,400 for a BMW 135i or $104,500 for a 335i.

The 3.0-litre six-cylinder unit wowed the judges for the second-year running by its sheer performance and excellent economy.

Australian judge John Carey, from Wheels magazine, said the unit was "proof that BMW pushes the boundaries of engine technology more than any other manufacturer".

I'm not typing the rest, it's another 5 paragraphs that refer to the BMW engine, but .

Yes, BMW won the engine of the year again and the 3 litre twin turbo managed to beat the V8 of the M3 which was thought to be the engien fo the year, but the performace engine went to the Porsche 3.6 lt twin turbo, now if we can put that engine into the little beemer, just imagine the possibilities
