EURO STYLE PLATES- Black or White

Want euro plate because I figure the space was designed with that sort of plate in mind, not our little Vic 3+3 things.

White Plates with Black writing is standard. Come May 12, we can get Black Plates with White writing.

Check out http://www.vplates.com.au/plate-styl...es/euro-plates

Question. Which do you think would go better with my Sparkling Graphite 135. White or Black plates.

Opinions welcome. Clever Photoshop work even better.

The black ones look quite nice...maybe it's because of the novelty factor at the moment...

I prefer the white ones based on tradition. The black ones in NSW aren't anything special. However on SG the black will look nice.

I'm going to go with white euro plates for my JB model. Just for that little bit of contrast. I dunno how the black plates on a black car would look....

Definitely white in my opinion. They don't have black plates in Europe, so they wouldn't look legit. I went for a white one:

Cool.

All that just makes it clearer for me.:iono:

All are valid points. Most I've wrestled with. I think the main worry is lack of contrast between the SGM paint and black plate. But that could be a good or a bad thing.

I think the black one might be Spanish in origin?

So you have Black Euros in NSW?

Can you find one, on a grey car (BM pref), take a photo, and post it. I am sure you have heaps of spare time to do that for a fellow 1addict.

Might have to photoshop it onto a car. The numbers didn't line up very well but you get the idea!

Slight hijack but similar topic. In WA, we can get the europlates in two different sizes or even one large, one smaller. Anyone had any thoughts to what size europlate they may put on? I want to order mine before my car shows up but unsure whether to get two big ones, one big, one small or two smaller ones???

I presume you're referring to slimline euro plates when you mention the small option? If so, I don't feel they look any good at all. In Victoria, the slimline euro plates are $100 more than the standard size euro. Funny thing is; there aren't any slimline euro plates in Europe! If you want an authentic euro look, go with the standard size...

It's not like me to be opinionated (not!), but DO NOT GET SLIMLINE EURO PLATES. Seen them on BM's Mercs VW's around town and they look sh_t! Really crap! Horrible! Have I mad my point?

Car was designed with full size euros in mind and look much better in the flesh.

Just my humble thoughts.

Sydneysider.

Thanks for your feed back. Atleast you've seen it in the flesh.

Must admit one concern with the black was that it would not be enough of a contrast with the Graphite. But then again, might look good.

Decisions decisions! Options Options! Will it ever end. What am I to do?:iono:

They are definitely rarer than the white euro's, so that's a +ve factor. Rare enough to get a 1'er and unique plates. The dark on dark factor gives less attention to the plates and more to the car IMO. In the end it's a personal preference.

Cozza - I like the shot of the white on white too! I thought of getting personalised plates but chose random euro plates in the end.

wow, thanks for the replies. Great to get some views and thanks for the pic Cozza, you're right, that looks good. What about the front? Cause there is no real need to "fill space" or "designed for" full size at the front.

Are SW your initials or was that so that it reads NSW?

For NSW. NBM went a while back!!

NBM reminds me too much of "nil by mouth"!

Trust me. Slimline Euros, back or FRONT look insipid and poonsie! Don't do it!

Unless you really want to.
