17" winter wheels
How about buying 5 of these wheels in 17" with 5 Dunlop M3 snows for winter. Just need to find a lightweight jack. 5 wheels/tires, TPMS sensors, mount/hunter balance, shipping, for $1500.

This is the wheel I'm using for winter. I just picked up a set yesterday. They reuse the black OE bolts and the BMW center caps fit.
The color is almost identical to the black chrome tails. Sport Edition KM11 I'm not looking forward to winter at all but I'll be very happy with this look once it arrives.

Thanks Gill

Great to hear about the center caps fitting. I figure getting 5 will be nice for winter, more weight in the rear, plus a spare. I just need to buy a small jack. All I have now is a huge Craftsman 3-ton monster. |

I am thinking about getting those rims in 18s for winter. Than slap some Dunlop Wintersport 3D on them.
Gill: Any idea when tirerack will have those tires in size 225/40R18? I know it is slightly bigger than stock but it shouldn't be a problem right? |

The size is fine. I'm running it right now. They should be available late summer or early fall.

I have a set of Blizzak LM-25's that are almost new in tire size 225-45-17. Will this wheel mounted with my Blizzaks work on a 135i? I saw this tire size on a 128i w/sport package and it looked good. Not sure on the tire dia. etc. thanks. |

I have a question: Why aren't people getting the BMW no cost option for 17" wheels with all season tires then adding 18" performance wheels/tires of their choice? Seems odd to do it the other way around.

The other reason is all-seasons are not nearly as good as "performance snows" or winter tires. |

I LOVE the 18" 264's and for winter I want Dedicated REAL winter tires which are NIGHT & DAY difference to all-seasons in the snow/ice. I will get Dunlop 3D Dedicated snows.
