Mounting aftermarket radio?
Just wondering if my blaupunkt headunit would fit in the 1er?
Can't find any DIN-size adapters for fitting an aftermarket headunit in the dash. Also I don't see any screws in the radio that comes from the factory to build it out? Anyone knows if this possible? Greets&thx. |

to take out the head unit you have to first remove controls for the ac/heating (IHKA). you can pry the or pick out the IHKA. after that the head unit is held in by 2 philips screws.

Call Crutchfield, they are BIG and have all kinds of stuff.
Good luck messing up the look of the OEM dash. I just went to Crutchfield and the 1 is on the list but hasn't been researched yet. Personally I won't touch the dash/stereo. Get the Premium Hi-Fi and be happy. In the future you can upgrade to a big JL Audio processor/Amp and component speakers. And a HEAVY SUB/AMP in the trunk. |
