Does Bmw Need To Give Us More M-tech Options
Living abroad I have seen some things that I think would really help sales and make our cars so much nicer, M-tech, kits and Interiors for one...I would really like your feedback on this. Because in Japan M-tech support is huge, and it really makes the cars stand out even more....maybe NA will read this and say hey lets offer it in a limited amount...and hell it makes sense the dealers get a chance to have some really swank cars to display. Plus they can make more cash....Not everybody can afford an M-car, but hey it's nice to have the option of some of the gear...let me know what you think, and thanks for the feed back.

I say make it a custom order option for the US...sometimes i just dont get the Euro manufacturers...Audi FINALLY is offering their S-Line but mainly exterior looks and some interior trim...not seats though. They sold a grip of the S-Line A4's too...I can see the M-tech option doing well for BMW

I think we get a good amount of options and support from BMW as opposed to some other manufactures like MB or Lexus, but I would LOVE to see more.

The OEM CF Splitters for the M-Tech are whack. If I had my choice, I'd take that Japanese lower lip, and open up the center portion Hartge style.

Garage List 2006 BMW 330i E90 [0.00]
2006 BMW 330i E90 [0.00] 2005 Mercedes Benz ... [0.00] 2002 Z3 2.2 USA Spo ... [0.00] 2002 Toyota MR-S Co ... [0.00] |
I purchased brand new a 2002 Z3 2.2 Sports Edition (made in USA) which came standard with M sports suspension , M-Sport Steering Wheel , BBS 17" Rims 225 and 245 Staggered tires, BOSS Audio.
M sports suspension -> the shocks are rock hard stiff and created unfixable rattlings almost in every part of the car. M-Sport Steering Wheel -> Never seen such a big size steering wheel on any sedans I owned and not to say how awful it looks on the Z3 roadster. BBS 17" Rims 225 and 245 Staggered tires -> Absolutely NOT appropriate for a 2.2 litre car, was never able to launch the car properly even I pushed to red line everytime. BOSS Audio -> The most crappy audio sound I ever had out of the eight cars I owned in last 10 yrs. Wonder anyone in USA had owned this sports edition Z3 and your experience?

I'd prefer to keep M labeled accesories on M cars
I'm quite sure I'm in the vast minority though I would feel like a wicked bad poser with even a M shift knob in a non M car |

i feel that right hand drive cars are discriminated by BMW. some parts are only available in left hand drive ie m foot rest/. e46 RHD m3 had no aluminium foot rest and e90 has no m aluminium foot rest. i had to cut the LHD m aluminium foot rest to custom fit my RHD e46 prev. a real pain for the RHD customer.

The idea that motivated me to get these wheels started back in mid-March (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ighlight=vs-xx), and I eventually placed an order for them toward the beginning of April (I think). Getting silver colored centers. ETA--June 1, but it may arrive later |

Here, if it makes you feel any better, I stole these photos from e46fanatics.com. Remember, M-Tech/M-Sport is OEM offered by BMW for the E90. The following is not OEM: |

GREAT actually!!!!! hehe. However, I do agree that an M accessory on the non M car is silly and I do see it from time to time and have a chuckle. Each to their own I suppose

i think m accessories on m cars are fine. just means u appreciate more sportiness in your interior. not really behaving like a poseur, unless u spend a fortune modifying your car with original m3 parts to pass off as a real m3..
