For those in Perth......I believe the demos arrive in April.

Kris - I notice you ordered the 6-speed. I was toying with the idea of ordering the manual but ended up with the steptronic auto as I was told "no-one orders the manual."

I would have jumped at an SMG option if it were available.

Don't be a pansy, get the manual!

From what I can see on this forum, a large percentage of 135i are being ordered with the manual (mine included!).

As my wife can't drive a manual, I get my 135i all to myself. She can have my D3 to abuse.

I think more people are going to order manual in the 135i than auto given that it is a performance oriented car...

The vast majority of the people on this forum seem to be ordering manual. I wonder how representative of the rest of the potential owners this is, it seems a lot of members here have driven on tracks before, or have owned manual performance cars previously. I was thinking about possibly getting a manual, but I have never driven manual cars before, and didnt think I would want to learn on a brand new car. The hill assist feature got me thinking about it again because thats something I think would be very helpful when learning to drive manual, especially for me who lives on top of a hill with a very steep driveway! One thing I did come up with is, order the manual 135, then while I'm waiting 3+ months for the car, take a drivers training class and/or rent a manual car and just learn that way haha...

I wouldn't care too much how many k's it has. My dealer is owned by BMW Australia and is reputable so I have nothing to worry about...

Fair point WAY, Beemer aren't about to shaft us. We needn't worry that our ordered cars will be used as demos - it's just not going to happen. Each dealer has an allocated number of demos arriving.
