Guess it is just you and I, Steve and Rebecca from your earlier thread!

No wonder I got such a low production number!

I haven't ordered yet. I'm researching ED with PCD and have started talking with Adrian Avila with BMW of South Atlanta via email, in person at my local dealer (mostly useless), and have sent an email to Irv with MortorWerks in IL but I have not heard anything back from him.

What dealer did you order from?

I have had very good experiences with Critz BMW in Savannah, which is about 45 minutes or so away for me. This will be the 4th bimmer I have purchased or leased from them, and find them very fair and honest. I have dealt with Richard Osborne in the past, who is now their sales manager, so my SA is Jim Kowalchuk (I think that is spelled right!). If it is not too great a hike for you, I certainly can recommend them based upon past experience. I have been out of the "BMW fold" for a few years, but am very excited to be getting back to owning one as exciting as the 1 Series.

More than you wanted to know, but there you go.

^ thanks for the information Bill!

I am in the Pawleys Island area so that would be a bit of a hike for me. IF they have a decent allocation and would be willing to set-up an ED and PCD then maybe I will shoot down there one weekend. Savannah's a nice weekend anyway!

What do you know about the Chaz dealer Rick Hendrick Imports if anything?

I'm going ED this summer. Birmingham dealer says they will only get 16 cars all year. half will be 128's. That is only 8 135i's for the largest city in Alabama. I hope I get the only WhiteOne.....

Don't know anything about them. . . Had a bad experience with my local dealer in the early '90's (which probably means the dealership has new owners by now), which triggered me to make the drive to Savannah. I wouldn't even look anywhere else they have been so good to work with. I know I must sound like a commercial, but I HATE the typical new car purchase experience when they try to jerk you around, and appreciate it when they don't.

Anyway, my build date just got moved up from Week 9 to Week 4, so I could conceivably have my 135 by the end of next month!

I'll be around from time to time

I ordered my 135i today from BMWoSA:
Alpine White
Coral Red Boston Leather\High Gloss Blk Trim
Cold Weather Pkg
Sport Pkg
Nav/iPod/Sat

Will be taking Performance Center del in March.

I've had 03 MCS,04 MCS,05 MCS,05 MCS C,06 MCS JCW,07 MCS, 07 335i Coupe, 07 X5 and now the 135i. Still have the Cabrio and X5.

This car will mostly see weekends and some track time and will not be an everyday driver.

I'll be interested in getting this baby as trackworthy as possible. Way Motor Works, Atlanta, will be doing all the work.

Look forward to maybe trying to get a group together some time if there is any interest.

Yes, Frank, I waffled over taking PCD but decided it would just add more time to the wait, and I am basically immature (at 50) when it comes to waiting for toys:biggrin:. Had hoped to hear we could possibly get them before the 3/22 launch date, because I am going to be away from 3/22 through 3/30. Worst case, I guess, is that it sits at the dealer for an extra week, but I would prefer to have it safely tucked away in my garage!!

Assume you are following the other threads, too, but I have noticed people with production numbers all around mine already going to production, and getting VIN's, but I am still a tentative Week 4. Most of them are in the NE or midwest, so I am wondering if it has something to do with shipping- I know mine is supposed to be shipped to the Port of Charleston .. . .

Production Date

Morning guys. I ordered with Dan Warren at Rick Hendrick Imports. I have been in car-rehab rebuilding two alfas for the past ten years. My wife said the '03 IS-300 that I bought to keep me on the road, is ready for replacing. I like the way this girl thinks. Our last BMW was a '69 2002 brought back to the US courtesy of Uncle Sam from Europe. Wish I had kept it longer. For a geezer, I am still in their playing under cars and driving too fast.....God I love this country. I can't wait to pick up this new toy. I see a big smile on my face coming real soon.

My local mb dealer also said no to the ED and PCD combo. But clearly the bmw website says ok to that, and there is plenty of evidence of it on bimmerfest and such. What gives I wonder? :iono:

I am checking on this with MotorWerks and BMW of SA too. I'll let you know what I find out.
