Own a 2022 M340i. Never have figured the remote start with keyfob out. My particular M340i has very few option on it.

Do ALL M340i cars have remote start? If so, exactly how do I activate it? I went into the car/settings/preventilation menu and looked around. Did not see anything about remote start. Have tried pressing the Lock button three times and the engine does not start.....

You can check ConnectedDrive store to see if your car is equipped with it — it doesn’t come with ALL G20 as a factory default; you either have to option it or purchase it from the store.

It’s highly likely your car doesn’t have it based on your description.

Try Google maybe? You should also be able to access from the myBMW app.

Open My BMW App--> Click the car icon with a bag icon behind it--> Click "ConnectedDrive Store--> Remote Start.

Thanks. I checked the MyBMW app/car with bag icon/ConnectedDrive store/Remote Services/ and Remote Start is not listed as one of the seven services.

If you don’t have the feature with the app, the key fob option may work. Try hitting the lock button 3x in quick succession. Same to turn it off. Only downside to that method if it works is you have to be in key fob range. I think the car has to be locked and even the parking brake on.

The issues isn’t the method itself: key fob vs app. OP simply doesn’t have the feature. If it’s not listed as optioned in ConnectedDrive then no amount of tapping the key fob will make it work.

OP could probably try purchasing it from the store if it’s being offered for the car/VIN.
