Ya man, i drive a 335i and an 07 Civic EX right now, not even in the same league, but i think most Civic owners understand that that BMW badge means business.

Trust me they don't understand. I used to have a civic and a protege and the sport compac group will challenge anything that has 4 wheels.

Take it to a road course. When you see your e46, e90,92, and later e87 can keep up/pass with cars that has lots more HP, then you'll really appreciate the car for what it is.

So next time some souped up civic, sti, evo..etc ravving at you at a stop light, just smile and wave...

I currently own a 2006 Civic Si and you can't put a Fit or Scion in the same group.

Civic owners are a smart bunch, they know their cars. IMO the Civic Si has one of the best manual gear boxes I have ever used. Much better than my M Roadster, 330ci, etc.

The 135i will be challenged by a whole different group of drivers. Not just the ricers.

depends on your general area. I used to live in stockton, ca; Ricer central up there, a lot of idiots up there too. I would always get these ricers revving at me or tying to pass me in the 540. They dont know the dif. between BMW models, and he didnt know i can pull 0-60 in a little over 4 seconds. So yeah, majority are idiots up there, in so cal now, dont see much of it, but they are still around, but loving it here more.

I didn't say Civic owner weren't smart but even still a stock SI would still get toasted by a 135i. And I'm not civic bashing because I owned a 98 civic ex and an 03 civic si so I'm qualified to talk about civics. You can compare a Scion TC to a Civic...they're in the same class/segment. I understand what u mean by a Fit, but a Fit is a modders dream like the civic is. But I'm just stating the obvious; and the obvious is that the sport compact world will no doubt challenge the 135. It will be too tempting to do so. Now SRT-4's EVO's and STI's are a different story because those things can flat out move.

Bmw's stock gearboxes do suck but that's what the aftermarket is for.

I used to live near Waldorf, MD and every Friday and saturday I would see civic drivers challenge SRT-4's and get Killed. It was the funniest thing you'd see. Over and over again they'd challenge and challenge get blasted. :iono:

Imagine the look on a 135 owner's face, though, when they're beaten by a Civic with a swap and turbo.

I expect my BMW gearbox to be pretty crappy in comparison with my s2000. And I really do envy you Civic drivers. My best friend has an 07 Coupe and that gets incredible mileage!! I cant complain though, with my leadfoot I still get about 25mpg and I'm talking about 8200redline shifts.

Imagine what an ECU flash is going to do to the 135i.

Oh, yeah? Well, what about a Civic with an LS1 in the engine bay, and one in the rear area?

Honestly, I could care less who kills whom (both are idiots for street racing), but don't get your manhood all crushed when a Fit with a K swap and a nice turbo takes you on and wins. This isn't going to be one of those forums where everything other than that brand/model is sh*t, is it? I hate that about some BMW forums.

I just appreciate the works of this brand, and as with any other brand, I'm not a big fan of swapping because then you take out what it was meant to be. You can tune it n all, but changing the majority of what makes a car is what i dont like.

Exactly!
Besides people are talking bout straight line speed. Put them on the track and see where the civic ,etc. will be at. The back, i've got an 05 rsx type s and an e30 m3. The rsx is comptech dual fan supercharged and has a custom racing suspension. And to be honest on the straights its only at side door line of the m3 on full out half mile drag race. But on the track its over 3 minutes slower than the all motor m3. Now both cars have full out racing suspension, and around the same horsepower(m3 298 whp, rsx 307 whp), and around the same weight. So when it comes down to it the pocket rockets are just out classed.

From how I see it it is a lose situation for luxury european car regardless the outcome. If you win then you are expected to win because you paid more. If you lose then you get your ass handed to you by a civic. If you get arrested for street racing you lose your car and license.
