I want the anthracite headliner! Seeing as it is not an option on any current US model I doubt it will happen. Though it is part of the Sport Pkg on a few models. |

Boy howdy ain't that the truth - I was hoping the 264 wheels would be standard on the 135 (that's the wheel on all the pr shots) and in the UK it isn't available on the 135 - hmmmm. I suspect we'll get a different set of choices (a rearranged basket of choices maybe a better way of putting it).

This is really weird. Xenon is on the options list but it's standard throughout all models. I am assuming X = standard and O = option.
Weight to power ratio is less than 335i.

Did I read that right?
It looks like there will be a sunroof delete option (or, more appropriately, a base version w/ out sunroof). Woohoo!
I'll take my 123d with sunroof delete / iDrive delete in Alpine White / Monaco Blue cloth with an MSport suspension, thanks. (and yes, I realize this is UK dealer options, so YMMV for US - although something could probably be arranged via ye olde European Purchase Plan) -D |

I hope so. There's quite a bit of options to add if not.

What is confirmed is that the 135i will have the aerodynamic kit, the suspension and brake upgrades that comprise the M Sport package. The only thing that is uncertain in my mind is the interior goodies (M Sport shift knob and steering wheel, for example). Otherwise, both US Press Releases confirm that the 135i will only be available with the M Sport goodies.

Ewwwwwwwwww I just realized that the 135i comes standard with the ugly rims, NOT the ones in the press photos. Hope that's not the case for the US as well...

Not immediately, but I would be surprised if it didn't by the 2010 model year. BMW will be bringing diesel motors for other models (X5, 5 series, 3 series) in 2009 and in Europe they usually equate a diesel motor with the more powerful motors (e.g. 4-cylinder diesel compared with 6-cylinder petrol, 6-cylinder diesel compared with 8-cylinder petrol, etc.), which might negate some of the 'no 4-cylinder BMWs in the US' bias. As it stands, the 4-cylinder diesel used in the 123d is more than a match to the 3.0 that will be in the 128i.

I do think that this is a likely scenario, but the wait will be hard. I guess that I'll just have to be satisfied with a 135i. Frankly, if a 123d M Sport was initially available I would have a hard time choosing between it and the 135i M Sport. Despite the taxes this would be a good time to be living in the UK. |
