housing needed in Denver

Hi folks!!!

I am in Denver for 4 weeks before moving definitly to here. I am working, but I am also trying to find a nice apartment in downtown Denver.

I am calling some of the leasing offices of some buildings, aroud 16th and Market and a 1 mile radius, more or less...

I would like a +700sqft possibly 1 bedroom, or 2 bedroom, with fitness center in the building, and garage. And if possible around $1,000.

Could anyone point me in the right direction?

Also, I don't have a car to move around, so if you know of any agency, specialized to show you the houses, and take you there, I would appreciate it!!

Thanks!!

Luis

PD: I am still trying to decide what to do with the car!!!! arg!!! To bring it from Spain, to buy a second hand one, or a new one... Is anyone interested in selling a car?

I have friends that live in the Commons Park West apartments, not sure of the price, but has the rest of the stuff you are looking for. Its at 16th and Platte, just across the river from downtown (like a 5 minute walk to the 16th St. Shuttle).

Thank you very much!!

I am taking a look at them.

It looks really good...

I have written them down to go visit them this weekend.

BTW... do you usually bargain with the price of the rent? I mean, is it commong to try to lower it? I have seen prices too high for what they are offering, and how the economy is right now...

Thanks!!!!!

If there were ever a chance to do that, it would be now. However with no one able to get loans, apartments are actually not doing that bad. Give it a try, all they can say is no we don't do that.

Good Luck!

sell the car in spain. 1. you will never get the resale value in the US compared to spain 2. no dealer will be able to work on your car because they have never seen a 530d. 3. conversion to US Spec........just don't bother, it's not worth it.

To second that, it'd be better to sell the car in Espana. Not that they wouldn't be able to work on it, because they'll have access to BMW service manuals plus any tech working at a dealership should be able to pull his weight. But unless you are moving to the US on diplomatic plates you will have to import it and standardize it to US EPA and DOT. If no one has done it for your year and model, then you'll sacrifice your car. I just moved here from Portugal, but fortunately bought a US-spec BMW.

Thanks for the advice on the car... it looks like too much trouble!!!

I am looking at second hand dealerships... Do you know where to look for reviews about the dealerships? Just a raw search on the internet to see if anything bad comes out?

About the housing... I am starting to be desperate... it's so hard when you don't know the city to check every single address on google maps...

I have been to Commons Park West... they are a bit expensive... (around $1,700-$2,000 for a 1 bedroom apartment). But they do look nice. I just would like to spend a little less... (like $1,000-1,300!!).

Best regards!!

I just moved here from California... I live in cherry creek which is more exspensive that Orange County... however the apartment i have until i buy my house is in cherry creek and I pay 922 a month. Its 900 Sq feet, attached one car garage... gym on site etc....

Look up the Heritage Creek Apartments... other than that to rent around here is about 3500 plus a month.

also if you end up moving here its a 750 dollar referal fee that I will split with you and you will get 375 off your rent for that month!
