Question Radio/clock malfunction-16 degree morning!

this morning i was driving to work. it was parked outside overnight and it was 16 degrees when i started it up.
the radio worked for a few seconds then started making a feint hissing noise and would not work/no sound...all controls (on radio and steering wheel) were inoperable and the display was slow to light up.
after the 10 minute drive to work, i turned everything off. then turned everything on and the radio was working again.
but i had to reset the clock...it was fast by 4 minutes.

i recently had the car in service for a CA/SOS/mirror control malfuntion and it was repaired.

i have never experienced radio malfunction in a car before (my 05 infiniti fx's lcd radio display was a little slow in very cold weather but the radio always worked).

is it "normal" for the radio to malfunction in very cold weather in our e90s?
or do i need to take into service?

TIA

I had a similar issue about a month ago. My rear speakers started buzzing loudly when I unlocked the car. My clock and radio, however, still worked fine. The radio was just drowned out by the buzzing. After a short drive, I turned the car off and back on. Everything was fine. I haven't had the issue since. My best guess is some kind of short due to moisture from freeze/thaw??

Strange - I've parked the car in -20 (Celsius, so probably -200F) degree weather, and no issues...

so the display on your radio responds normally in sub zero when you change modes or stations?

It gets laggy because it's cold (all LCDs do, though) but I have no functional impairments.

+1....Mine used to get really laggy and dim for the first few minutes but would be fine after ~10-20 minutes...
