Windshield gap
Hi guys
Just wanted to see if anybody can clarify what the gap between the top of the windshield and the roof is meant to be like. Recently had the windshield replaced by insurance company using original BMW glass. Not sure if it's paranoia but felt like the cabin noise has since increased. The current gap measures at 6mm. There's no leak so I feel like it must be installed correctly? Wondering if others can just share what their gap looks like. Thanks. |

Did they install the foam strips across the bottom of the windshield? The quotes I got for windshield replacement only list the glass and rain sensor as parts but from my research there are foam pieces that should be replaced as well. Think that impacts the noise you hear in cabin.
Edit- part numbers: BMW 51487458549 Sound Insulation Windshield BMW 51487458551 Dashboard Sound Insulation For sure the first one should be added, the second might be on the actual dash and not the glass. Last edited by RonronEG; 05-21-2023 at 12:58 AM.. |
