Ipod functionality

I am really angry with my ipod integration
I have the 6FL option NonI-Drive
I know there are a million threads about this but i cant start reading them
all to find what the problem is so if anyone knows what the problem is please
tell me

I got the OEM BMW Y-cable recently and IPOD is not charging, it jumps to the radio often and sometimes when i unhook it from the cable the ipod crashes. I mean WTF!!!!????
When it is connected my ipod screen writes
"Connected"
"Attached to accessory"
and i dont get the BMW symbol just the apple logo

Mine charges okay, but if I disconnected the ipod frequently it often isn't recognized by the car until it stays in the car while it's off. Also the more often it is disconnected the less reliable it is while playing i.e. it will jump to the radio and the ipod is no longer listed. I found the best way to keep it working is leave the ipod connected all the time.

Its an Ipod classic 80GB
Thing is i use my ipod when running so i disconnect it often.
Besides i read that leaving it in the car due to the heat and cold
causes damage to the battery

Bump

This is what i get on my ipod screen when its connected to the usb port in my car. Does this seem right? In the foto you can see that its actually charging but 90% of the times it doesnt so i need to plug it to my PC in order to charge it every 3-4 days.
I bought this ridiculously expensive Y-cable for better functionality and i get worst results. Do you think its the car's fault or my ipod's?
