Factory order tracking in Canada
Hello all. We have a 2023 X1 on its way to us and wondering if any members here have had any successful experience in tracking an order here in Canada. The dealer told us it has shipped and left (not sure from where) on Dec 13th. I asked if he knew which ship it was on and was told they don't have that info. I thought I might have better luck with BMW Customer Service Canada and they said only the dealer was allowed to give out any info on vehicles that are onroute to the dealership.
So excited and the lack of info dosen't help... |

If you have a VIN could can always try to enter it into the Wallenius tracker (https://www.walleniuswilhelmsen.com/track-trace). If it's on one of their ships this will tell you which one.

Thanks for the link, Speedbird71 . I do have the VIN but unfortunately no luck on the WW website. I tried all three of the drop-down options but kept getting a "No record found" message.

Thanks tex2670. My client advisor dosen't seem to care much. Did a bit of digging and assuming it left Bremerhaven on the 13th via WW, I have narrowed it down to ship - Morning Charlotte. Its due to reach Halifax on Dec 23rd, 2022.

You'll get virtually nothing from any gta dealer, or Canada for that matter. I don't know why. I'm on my 10th bmw and have never been able to get the info needed to track the vehicle either from Germany or Spartanburg. The only info I could get was the status code...see here:

When in the middle of the ocean there is no private AIS receivers for any vessel except GPS (for paid account). So no data feed to the vessel finder.

Yup. Can't track when no AIS nearby, except via GPS or satellite (which will both be paid options. )
I used Marinetraffic to track the vehicle from Bremerhaven to Halifax (paid 1.49 a couple of times over the 11 day journey to get geographical updates. Once I knew the ship had arrived, I kept checking on LHF.com to see when it had arrived at the AUTOPORT in Concord, ON. In my case, the vehicle arrived at Halifax on Dec 27th, 2022 and reached the Concord Autoport on Jan 3rd, 2023. Sat there for a few days and reached dealership yesterday on Jan 9th, 2023. Honestly seems like an awesome turnaround. Thanks everyone on the forums for your help. Had ZERO help from the dealership who actually suggested the forums for help . |

My X1 is on Tokyo car expected to arrive NY port on Jan 10th.
using https://www.marinetraffic.com after I search for my ship and click on latest position (which shows 3 day old info) now if I "refresh" the page I am suddenly seeing the ship location that appears to be its current correct location. Perhaps a glitch in their system. |
