What is the experience of the sport seat, do you like it?

I tried the sport and regular seats.

as a large person, I was surprised that I found the sport seats very comfortable. (large = 6'2" 237 pounds + holiday weight) I didn't really care fore the thigh extender or whatever it's called, but that was just me.

on the other hand, the regular seats was also fine. they just don't hug the body as well in the corners.

I have ordered the Active Seats(with lumbar support) for $450. Didn't really feel like paying an extra $400 for sport seats, especially since I always order custom-made real sheepskin seat covers for all of my cars/SUVs. The regular seats are fine with me and they do make getting in/out of the X1 slightly easier.

Of course, if you order the M Sport package, you will have no choice but to have the sport seats.

I found the sport seats harsh on my hips at first, so much so that I bought a cushion for our first trip over two hours. They have since acclimated and I don't need the cushion anymore, which is good because I got the heated seats and I can actually feel it now. I'll bring the cushion just in case on our trip to NYC soon, because that's four hours away.

The bolsters are not adjustable. So if you’re back does not fit into this sport seat it’s going to be super uncomfortable. My back just barely fits. I’m still in the process of getting used to it. It feels a little less uncomfortable a couple of weeks and 550 miles later.

I'm 6'2 and 237 pounds.... was very comfortable in the sport seats when I test drove the X1 4 times now. of course, each person is different. I wear a size 54 suit but my pants are size 38... because I have wide shoulders. speaking of seats, with the sport seat at its lowest position, there's exactly 5.25 inch of space above my head. (in the rear, it's 3.75 inches above my head) I always bring a small tape measure when I go test drive cars.

My friend who went me on the 2nd test drive absolutely hated the sports seats. He is 6'3, but short legs and long torso. The side bolsters were hugging him too tight when he was in the driver's seat.

Garage List
More bolstering and seat cushions can be extended. Love them on my 3 Series

6'3", 215 lbs, and I love them. Very supportive, but haven't had any longer road trips in the car yet so I can't speak to whether there are any issues there. For someone with longer legs, depending on how far back your set is, you may have minor issues getting out of the vehicle. I've found the side bolstering on the seat portion is exactly where I would normally swing my legs to get out. I'm concerned about the foam getting smushed down over the years, so I've had to alter my entry and exit slightly from the 2020 X1 we have.
