what are the tire sizes for the X1's optional 19" and 20" wheels in the US? also, which brands/models of tires does BMW usually put on them?(in any size, 18/19/20, performance or all-season)

thanks!

Can't help with the tire brands, but the tire sizes are:

245/45-19
245/40-20

I had not thought about this... but stock 18" wheels come with 225/55/18 Pirelli P-Zero all-Season tires for X1 in the US, at least on the demo X1 that I drove recently. (apparently this tire is marketed exclusively for BMW).

By going to 19 or 20-inch wheels, all four tires also get wider, from 225 to 245...

The 18" in this video are Hankook. Most of the tires I could see in other videos appeared to be Continental. If you look on Tire Rack, Pirelli and Conti do manufacture different "versions" of the same tire, with the version having a STAR on the sidewall being "approved" for BMW.

Edit: the video of the white X1 in your reply also says Bridgestone(at 2:25 of the video)

The one that I drove was Pirelli P-Zero 225/55/18 which surprised me... because I instantly thought "are these going to have harsh ride?" but then I saw the all-season marking. the ride was actually quite nice and definitely not the harshness that I was expecting.

just found a video by a BMW dealer in New Jersey showing the same 18" Pirelli P-Zero... I think that's also a demo X1, just like the demo X1 that I took on a test drive. I hope this is not some bait-and-switch that BMW uses for demo cars?

I guess there's no way to specify which brand of tire that one gets...

(tires begin at 3:17 into the video)

another video from a California BMW dealer, but that X1 came with 18-inch Bridgestone tires:

The fact that they are non-run flat would probably have the biggest impact on not feeling harsh. My wife's crossover has 19" Conti's (235s), and the ride is really good. I think Conti, Pirelli or Bridgestone will all feel about the same if they are all the same size. Not sure about the Hankooks.

I wish BMW will look into using self-sealing tires... I think Michelin and Continental both make it... none of the harshness like runflats and the security of being able to keep driving

by the way, in the video of that white X1 you linked, the tires were also Bridgestone 18-inch?
where did you see X1s with Hankooks?

I remember seeing Continental EcoContact6Q(?) on the 20-inch wheel on another X1 waiting to be delivered to a customer when I was testing driving the dealer's demo.

wow... I did not know that new BMW dealerships advertise new vehicles on Autotrader...

went on a test drive with my mother so she can decide if she wanted another RX or switch camp to BMW X1. We've known this Lexus saleswoman for over 20 years and she said business was very bad these days. Yes, prices are high, but they don't have enough cars/SUVs to sell... which results in less money for everyone on the sales staff. I kind of feel bad. We know that she used to make close to $200k per year(my mother's best friend is her CPA, which is how we know her... and you know the ladies talk about all sorts of things). Since the pandemic, especial the last year, she has been making less than half of that. Customers were still coming, but new SUVs were hard to come by and most didn't feel like waiting, so usually went with another luxury brand that happened to have vehicles on hand.

The X3 is much closer in size to the RX. Would she consider an NX, which is closer to the X1 size (but still bigger than an X1)?

she always bring me along on test drive... not because I'm know more about car... no... I'm basically how she compare the size of car's interior. I'm 6'2" and packing a sizable pandemic weight.

4 of me can comfortably sit in the new 2023 X1 on 4-hour long trips. plenty of headroom and legroom to move around.(slight less shoulder room, but perfectly fine for 4)

not so with the current Lexus NX. in the driver's seat, no matter how I adjusted the seat, my hair always rubs against the roof(with moonroof). When I get out from that driver's seat and sit in the seat behind it, my knees are up against the seatback, forcing me to sit at an angle. in the back, my head skull(not just the hair) is firmly up against the roof, so I have to slouch down.
