Parking assistant plus demonstration

If you're coming from an older car like me without this feature, and was curious about how it works (I definitely was), here's a quick YouTube video I found that shows the process:

(asking for a friend)... will this feature allow the car to automatically back into the garage?(like how it backs into a regular parking space )

Thanks!

Ha, that would be great! I hope so, but maybe you'll have to paint some lines in the garage? I live in a condo, but park next to a rather large pillar, so I'm hoping it still works for me! But then again, I like to hug the pillar so that I have more space between my car and my neighbors, since he's rather old and has a harder time getting in his car.

when Amazon had a price mistake on these delineators, I bought 6 of them and put them inside my 2-car garage. (usually $100 for 3, but somehow the price became $14 on the day I saw them) They work great at saving the walls and shelves in my garage. my garage is at a somewhat odd angle. I have to perform a 90-degree turn to back into it.(very much like backing into a parking spot just like in this video) That's what I'm wondering if it's possible for the parking aide to automatically back it in for me.. I mean a friend...

What about white reflective tape on the ground for your *ahem* friend?

when I get the X1, I'll probably look into painting parking spot lines for *my friend* and see if the X1 will park itself?

on second thought... I just remembered something... My friend's mother(yes, an actual friend) was backing out of her garage in Michigan a few years ago. The family cat was sleeping under the car and didn't move. She didn't know the cat was underneath. RIP, kitty.... It was also traumatizing for my friend's mother. Ever since then, I banned my cat from going into the garage.(he's old and almost deaf)
