Is it though, the wording of the Pro package is adding the active lane guidance with the ability of adaptive "stop and go" cruise control. I don't feel like this is adaptive cruise control. The way BMW has varied names for features does not make this any easier to figure out.

I didn’t think so but what is it? Does it just keep the speed set as whatever the speed limit is as it varies highway to highway?

ACC keeps a consistent distance from the car in front of you, and slows your car down - to a stop - when the car in front of you slows down.

Surprised to see leather is not an option available, personally not a fan of SansaTec at all.

Yah I noticed that, sorta bummed a lot of stuff got kept in the UK. Leather, Adaptive LEDs, Driving Assistant Pro (US production TBD) not to mention the iX1 and even the plug in hybrid models.

Probably right. I just assumed...which I know I shouldn't do. It's too bad, because adaptive CC is light years better than std CC in congested areas

2023 X1

The ACC is coming but TBD per BMW USA press release below.

A new level of assisted driving for the X1: Driving Assistance Professional.

The optional (start of production TBD) Driving Assistant Professional available for the first time on the BMW X1 offers new levels of comfort and safety on long-distance journeys[/B]. This camera- and radar-based system includes the Steering and Lane Control Assistant as well as Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function. Corrective steering inputs help the driver to keep the vehicle in the lane detected by the system. Active Cruise Control is capable of not only maintaining the preferred speed, but also automatically keeping a safe distance from vehicles travelling ahead and can bring the new BMW X1 to a halt if necessary. And when driving in tedious, dense traffic, Extended Traffic Jam Assistant allows attentive, hands-free driving at speeds up to 40 mph on limited access highways.

The Speed Limit Assist and route monitoring functions available when using Active Cruise Control add to the car’s assisted driving capabilities. Speed limits along the route detected either by the Speed Limit Info system or by using data from the navigation system can be anticipated in advance with the help of automatic Speed Limit Assist. Meanwhile, the route monitoring function looks ahead to reduce the car’s speed as appropriate when approaching a corner, a traffic circle, or an exit.

I don't think this is available in the prior gen X1 or the X2. Also, in the 3 Series, you need to get actual leather to get heated rear seats. So I don't think this is surprising (but still disappointing).

In other BMW vehicles this includes additional cameras and radar sensor. So unless those were already installed and just not enabled, there's no way an OTA update would add this feature. (Unless BMW some how magically figures out how to send physical equipment over OTA).

Ok but the X1 comes with advanced safety systems which would use this kind of hardware for those features, right?

I was in another thread but BMW does actually have FODs planned including “Driving assistant plus” which from what I can tell may allow us to at the very least gain adaptive cruise ability minus the lane holding abilities, which I’d be okay with. Looking at the bumper too any X1 with premium package has 360 cameras and sensors for the parking. I’d be shocked if the vehicle wouldn’t let you, also the standard safety features have radar for the front assist braking stuff.

Nope, not quite the same hardware as what ACC uses.

My guess is the delayed availability is due to component shortage.
